Former World Series of Fighting bantamweight titlist Marlon Moraes will make his Octagon debut against Raphael Assuncao at UFC 212 on June 3.

The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed the pairing on Saturday. A strawweight clash pitting Viviane Pereira against Jamie Moyle was also announced for the event. UFC 212 takes place at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro and is headlined by a featherweight championship tilt between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway.

Moraes, 28, will make his first promotional foray riding the momentum of a 13-bout winning streak. Moraes captured the inaugural WSOF bantamweight strap with a unanimous decision triumph over Josh Rettinghouse in March 2014. He defended the title six times after that, often in lopsided fashion. Moraes is 18-4-1 as a professional overall, with 13 triumphs coming inside the distance.

Assuncao, meanwhile, has lost just once in his last nine outings — a unanimous decision defeat to ex-champ T.J. Dillashaw at UFC 200. The 34-year-old Brazilian bounced back in his most recent appearance, taking a split decision over Aljamain Sterling at UFC on Fox 23.
