Bellator MMA officials announced Monday that the 26-year-old Sanchez, a Roufusport product, had suffered an undisclosed injury and pulled out of his Dec. 2 bout with unbeaten featherweight prospect A.J. McKee at Bellator 166. In Sanchez's place, McKee will now face Ray Wood, who was originally penciled in to face Treston Thomison on the undercard. Thomison now awaits a new opponent.

Wood, 27, is a Maine native now training out of Revolution MMA in Amarillo, Texas. “All Business” has split his two Bellator MMA appearances, knocking Chris Jones out with a spinning back fist at Bellator 151 in May before getting choked out in just over three minutes by Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 154 in May.

The 21-year-old McKee, son of longtime MMA veteran Antonio McKee, made his pro debut at Bellator 136 in April 2015 and hasn't looked back. Since then, the “Mercenary” racking up a 5-0 record with five first-round stoppages, all inside the Bellator cage, most recently guillotine choking Cody Walker in just 32 seconds at Bellator 160 in August.

Bellator 166 marks the promotion's return to the WinStar World Resort and Casino in Thackerville, Okla., and is headlined by a bantamweight title rematch between champion Eduardo Dantas and the man who once dethroned him, Joe Warren. Bellator 167 takes place the following night, Saturday, Dec. 3, and features another bantamweight rematch in the main event, with Darrion Caldwell looking to avenge his July submission loss to Joe Taimanglo.
