MMAjunkie.com was first to report the lightweight booking. The bout has yet to be finalized and has not been formally announced by the Las Vegas-based promotion. The Fight Night event takes place at Pechanga Arena in San Diego and includes a flyweight clash pitting Ariane Lipski against Luana Carolina as well as a middleweight tilt between Punahele Soriano and Anthony Hernandez.

Poirier hasn’t competed since falling to Khabib Nurmagomedov via third-round submission in a lightweight championship fight at UFC 242 this past September. Prior to that defeat, “The Diamond” had been unbeaten in his previous six Octagon appearances. He is 9-2 with on no contest since moving from featherweight to lightweight.

Hooker, meanwhile, is coming off a grueling five-round verdict over Paul Felder in the UFC Auckland headliner on Feb. 23. “The Hangman” is currently on a three-bout winning streak that also includes triumphs over Al Iaquinta and James Vick.
