Dillon Danis, Khonry Gracie Withdraw From Bellator 238 Bouts Due to Injuries

A pair of fights featuring intriguing Bellator MMA prospects will no longer be taking place at the upcoming Bellator card in January.

The Orange County Register was the first to report this news on Friday, and a promotional official later confirmed this information. Dillon Danis (2-0) and Khonry Gracie (2-1) have both been forced to pull out of their matchups on Bellator 238 due to undisclosed injuries suffered by both men. According to the organization, both of their opponents will be paid their show money and replacements will not be sought.

Danis was set to take on Kegan Gennrich in a 175-pound catchweight contest on the main card. The outspoken SBG Ireland team member posts two career wins by first-round submission. His opponent Gennrich bounced back from a submission defeat in his first fight in the sport to Joey Valadez with two stoppage wins. Gennrich took four years off from 2015 to 2019, and came back to tap Devondrick Bankston in September in under 90 seconds with an armbar.

Gracie rebounded from a decision loss to Devon Brock in his MMA debut at Bellator 192 with two wins over Ron Becker and Oscar Vera. The son of Royce Gracie was meeting Hector Saldana at welterweight, with the latter losing four of his last five bouts dating back to 2015.

Bellator 238 goes down on Jan. 25 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. The event will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between champ Julia Budd and former women's pound-for-pound #1 Cristiane Justino. Additionally, Darrion Caldwell takes on Adam Borics in a featherweight grand prix quarterfinal.
