Promotion officials announced the change on Wednesday. Bellator 189 takes place at Winstar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla., on Dec. 1 and is headlined by a women’s featherweight title tilt between Julia Budd and Arlene Blencowe. The card airs on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT. Rickels-Piccolotti is expected to be a 160-pound catchweight affair.

Rickels, a former lightweight title challenger, is coming off a third-round TKO of Aaron Derrow in his most recent appearance at Bellator 171 on Jan. 27. “The Caveman” has been with Bellator since 2011, compiling a 13-4 career mark with two no contests.

Anderson, meanwhile, last appeared at Bellator 170, where he dropped a unanimous verdict to Derek Campos on Jan. 21. The 27-year-old Californian is 5-3 in Bellator, with wins over Patricky Freire (twice), Saad Awad and Brandon Girtz.
