Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke Cruises in Makeshift One Championship Main Event
One Fighting Championship strawweight titleholder
Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke was left to pick up the pieces
from the axed Ben
Askren-Luis Santos
rematch, and he did just fine in a leading role.
Amnuaysirichoke stayed undefeated in a non-title bout, as he picked apart Yago Bryan Farias de Morais for a five-round unanimous decision in the One Championship “Pride of Lions” headliner on Friday at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. A three-time Lumpinee champion in muay Thai, the 37-year-old Amnuaysirichoke (6-0) has made the transition to MMA look easy.
Morais (3-1) could not keep up, as Amnuaysirichoke dissected him
with sharp jabs and kicks to the legs and body for much of their
25-minute confrontation.
The Amnuaysirichoke-Morais showdown slid into the main-event slot left vacant when Santos failed to make weight and then refused to meet the terms Askren established -- the welterweight champion wanted the Brazilian to weigh-in at no more than 190 pounds on fight day -- for the bout to move forward.
After a relatively even first round, Boku (23-10) seized control with pinpoint striking in the second. He floored Overall with a right hand, and while the American returned to his feet, all means of escape had been cut off. Boku fired off an exquisite combination -- a left hook to the body was the key blow -- against the fading American, forcing a standing technical knockout a little more than a minute into the frame.
Meanwhile, undefeated Evolve MMA prospect Angela Lee submitted Natalie Gonzales Hills with a first-round twister in a featured women’s contest at 115 pounds. Hills (2-3) tapped 2:24 into round one, becoming the promising teenager’s third victim in as many appearances.
Lee (3-0) waded through punches, elbows and knee strikes before yielding a takedown inside the first minute. The Hawaii-based Singapore native swept into top position, navigated the Hills guard and climbed to full mount. Lee, 19, then moved to the back and executed the twister, resulting in a quick tapout.
Elsewhere, Alain Ngalani brought a brutal end to his heavyweight showcase with Igor Subora, as he disposed of the reigning Universal Reality Combat Championship titleholder with first-round ground-and-pound. Ngalani (2-2) finished it 69 seconds into round one.
Ngalani doubled over the Ukrainian with a savage body kick, swarmed with punches and knees that drove Subora (5-3) to the canvas and assumed top position. Ngalani then softened the 35-year-old Fist Gym rep with hammerfists, postured inside guard and closed the deal with a series of standing-to-ground punches that had Subora’s head bouncing off the mat.
In other action, Amir Khan (4-2) struck Jimmy Yabo (4-2) into submission with punches 4:18 into the first round of their featherweight clash; Martin Nguyen (5-1) forged a doctor stoppage against Edward Kelly (6-3) 4:17 into round one of their encounter at 145 pounds; Benedict Ang (2-0) forced a corner stoppage on Yohan Mulia Legowo (7-4) in between the second and third rounds of their featherweight scrap; and Li Kai Wen (4-2) stopped Nathan Ng (1-1) on punches 4:52 into the first round of their pairing at 145 pounds.

took care of Major
Overall with second-round punches. Overall (6-2) wilted 79
