Darren Till Plans on ‘Refocusing’ Following Knockout Loss at UFC London

Darren Till lost his second consecutive UFC bout in devastating fashion last week, falling to Jorge Masvidal via second-round knockout at the O2 Arena in London.

That defeat comes on the heels of a submission loss to Tyron Woodley in a title bout at UFC 228 this past September. Prior to those setbacks, Till was unbeaten in 18 professional bouts to begin his career. The 26-year-old Liverpool native was silent for the better part of a week until he reflected on his latest loss in a statement on his Instagram account Friday.

“Last Saturday was a tough night against a strong opponent, [Jorge Masvidal]. Fight game is a tough one,” Till wrote. Few things need refocusing now, feel like I lost me self the past year [and] haven’t been fully focused to my craft!

I’ve had a week in this amazing place Canada to revitalize with my thoughts! I’ll be back a different animal, [Team Kaobon] is still the best coach [and] person in this world [and] we will dominate for years to come. Can not wait to be back at the gym Monday evolving and focusing like never before. I owe it to myself! Peace motherf—-ers.”

Although he didn’t offer any clues regarding his next move in his latest post, Till has flirted with moving to middleweight in recent years. His career resume thus far includes notable wins over Stephen Thompson and Donald Cerrone, among others.
