Maria Silva (116) vs. Kathryn Paprocki (115.5)

Round 1

Silva opens up with a couple low kicks and Paprocki responds by landing a left hook. Paprocki with a body kick which the Brazilian catches and attempts to counter. A straight right connects for Paprocki. Silva goes back to the well with a pair of low kicks. They clinch in the center of the cage and Silva shoves her foe into the fence. Silva maintains heavy pressure, landing occasional knees to the midsection. Paprocki does her best to remain active against the cage, but Silva is tight on the body lock. Silva isn’t doing much more than holding her opponent and Jason Herzog separates the fighters. Silva mixes up her kicks and punches in the center of the cage. Paprocki attempts to fire back before Silva initiates the clinch and shoves her back into the fence. Silva lands a couple knees to the head and then a knee to the body. Silva keeps control and rips some short punches to the body. Paprocki can’t get her back off the cage, but she does throw a couple knees. They round ends in this position, with Silva in control.

Round 2

Silva opens with a glancing high kick and Paprocki pressures forward with punches. Silva tags her with a counter. Silva continues to stay active with low kicks and then she goes back to a head kick, which is mostly blocked. Paprocki forces the clinch, but Silva turns her foe into the fence. Silva pulls Paprocki off the fence and trips her to the canvas. The Brazilian sets up in half guard. Paprocki stands and Silva grabs a front head lock and throws a knee to the gut. Paprocki is denied on a takedown attempt. Silva breaks her grip, throws a couple kicks and initiates the clinch. She gets Paprocki down and lands in full mount. Paprocki gives up her back, then rolls back over. Silva lands some punches to the head and Paprocki rolls over again, giving up her back. Now Silva has a body triangle as she fishes for a rear-naked choke. Silva looks for a neck crank, and her arm is right under Paprocki’s mouth. Paprocki’s breathing is labored even though the arm isn’t under the chin. Paprocki breaks the hold and turns into top position with a little less than 30 seconds left. Paprocki drops a few short punches and then Silva answers with right hands from the bottom as the horn sounds.

Round 3

More leg kicks from Silva as she avoids punching combinaitions from Paprocki. Paprocki blocks a head kick. Silva forces the clinch, lands a knee and shoves her foe into the cage. They separate and Silva lands a body kick. Silva follows a right hand with a pair of high kicks, then ties up with Paprocki. Silva patiently trips Paprocki down near the fence. She dives down in half guard and presses her forearm into Paprocki’s face. A couple short elbows follow for the Brazilian. Silva works her way to full mount and Paprocki attempts to use her feet to kick off the fence. Silva transitions to her opponent’s back with both hooks in. Silva takes full mount and Paprocki gives up her back again. Silva drops a few solid right hands to the side of the head. Silva continues to transition from one dominant position to another, and Paprocki can’t escape. Paprocki is bleeding from her nose now. Paprocki remains unable to escape, as Silva altnernates between back control and mount. Paprocki finally scrambles out of danger and stands, but she can’t mount any offense of note before the final horn.

Chris Duncan (155.5) vs. Viacheslav Borshchev (156)

Round 1

Borshchev throws a head kick at the outset, but it’s blocked. Duncan attacks with a leg kick. Borshchev flicks out a jab. Duncan lands a straight right but Borshchev answers with a counter. Borshchev with a sharp jab. Both en are having success with their jab. Duncan’s nose is already reddened. A lot of spinning kicks from Duncan, but they aren’t landing. Duncan pressures and Borshchev counters with a cmbination. Borshchev stuns Duncan with a right and flurries with punches. A body kick from the Russian forces Duncan to shoot out of desperation. Duncan picks his man up and dumps him on the mat. Borshchev tries to stand and Duncan muscles him back down, where he sets up in half guard and lands an elbow from top position. Duncan stands and drops heavy punches. Borshchev stands and eats a big knee. Borshchev attempts a Rolling Thunder, but it misses the mark. Duncan sticks a nice jab. Duncan shoots, connects his hands, lifts and dumps Borshchev on the mat. The Russian stands quickly, but Duncan lands a left hook on the break. Borshchev digs a punch to the liver. A left hand by Borshchev backs up Duncan. Borshchev lands a jab. With time winding down, Duncan sits Borshchev down with a leg kick. Duncan lands a partially blocked head kick before time expires.

Round 2

Both lightweights land heavy body kicks early. They trade punches in the pocket, and both men land, but it’s a right from Borshchev that seems to land the heaviest. Moments later, Borshchev steps back and counters a Duncan right hand with a clean left hook to the jaw. Duncan drops like a sack of potatoes and referee Mark Smith quickly rushes in to save the Scot before any more damage can be done. Duncan is confused as he regains consciousness, and Smith tells him to stop fighting because this one is over.

Jake Hadley (127: Missed Weight) vs. Mitch Raposo (126)

Round 1

Hadley pressures forward immediately and lands a kick to the body. Hadley with a jab and Raposo counters witha 1-2. An inside leg kick lands for Raposo. Haldey is intent on making Raposo fight off his back foot. Raposo times a level change as Hadley marches forward, and he dumps the Englishman on the mat. Hadley is very active from his back, transitioning from one submission attempt to another. Raposo fights out of danger and works from half guard. Hadley scrambles to his feet and he’s back to stalking Raposo. A body kick .ands for Hadley, and Raposo fires back with a left. A counter right lands for Raposo, who is dodging and countering well. A leg kick connects for Hadle. A nice leg kick lands for Raposo. Hadley pressures forward with a 1-2. Raposo lands a combination of his own. Another combination for Rapsoso lands. Raposo lands another 1-2, then changes levels for a takedown with about 25 seconds left. Raposo ends the round landing some short body punches from inside full guard.

Round 2

Hadley lands a straight left to the body. Raposo goes back to the 1-2. A left partially lands for Raposo, and Hadley answers with a body shot. Raposo snatches a single leg, but lets it go. Hadley looks to pressure and lands a short uppercut. The Cage Warriors veteran lands a body kick and then follows with a takedown against the fence. Hadley wraps up his foe’s legs, then transitions to the back of Raposo. Hadley has both hooks in with 2:30 to go. Hadley switches to a body triangle. Raposo looks to turn in but he has to give up his back again in short order. Hadley is in an even better position and now looks for the choke, but his arm is on the jaw, not quite under the chin. Hadley cranks anyway, and it looks uncomfortable. Bleeding from his nose, Raposo resists for as long as he can, but eventually the squeeze is too tight and a grimacing Raposo is forced to tap out.

Lorenzo Hood (257.5) vs. Martin Buday (264.5)

Round 1

Hood lands an inside low kick. Moments later, Buday accidentally pokes Hood in the eye and the bout is paused. The action is resumed and Buday is pressuing. Hood lands a hard body kick. Buday goes with an inside leg kick. They tie up and Buday drives his man into the fence. Buday knees the thighs and punches the body. Knees to the gut draw a reaction from Hood. Buday is doing well with his close quarters offense, landing knees and short punches. Knees to the thigh seem to be taking their toll. Hood breaks away and staaggers Buday with a right hand. Hood tees off against the fence and Buday looks to be reeling. Buday stems the tide by forcing the clinch and shoving his man back into the cage. More knees to the thigh for the Czech fighter. Buday lands a series of short right hands. Hood is getting battered and has been busted open. Buday keeps working agianst the fence, going back to those knees to the thighs. Hood doesn’t like them at all. Buday is bleeing as well, dripping down his foe’s back. But it’s Buday who is dominating the position from the clinch, with Hood accepting the position. Mark Smith wants Hood to fight back as Buday continues to pepper Hood with short punches. The 10-second warning arrives, and Buday frames the head and fires off a big knee upstairs that drops Hood to his knees just as his opponent misses a big follow-up standing elbow. Smith has seen enough, and the end arrives just before the first round horn.

Reyes Cortez Jr. (135.5) vs. Christian Rodriguez (137.25: Missed Weight)

Round 1

Cortez immedidately fories off a combination. They’re both trading early. Rodriguez just misses a flying knee as Cortez changes levels. Cortez shoves his man into the fence. They battle for positioning and Cortez lands a knee to the gut. Rodriguez is looking to land shoulder strikes with his back to the fence. Cortez tranisitions to the back with a rear-body lock as they work along the fence. Rodriguez denies a trip attempt. Cortez stays heavy with double underhooks. Rodriguez lands a short elbow on the break and a crisp jab. Another couple rights land for Rodriguez in an exchange. Rodriguez sprawls on a takedown. Rodriguez is the aggressor and he ties up behind a combination. They break and Cortez lands a low kick. Rodriguez shucks Cortez off him and digs to the body with a hook. Rodriguez is heating up now, but he is forced to defending a takedown near the fence. He creates space and lands a nasty upward elbows. A straight right snaps Cortez’s head back. Rodriguez just misses a high kick as Cortez changes levels. They clinch and Rodriguez lands a knee upstairs. An uppercut to the body lands for Rodriguez, and Cortez forces the clinch before the horn.

Round 2

Rodriguez tees off with a combination during an initial exchange. Cortez lands a combo of his own, but Rodriguez lands a perfectly timed knee on a Cortez shot. Rodriguez lands a straight right. Cortez forces a clinch, but rodriguez turns him into the fence and separates. Rodriguez with a 1-2 but Cortez fires back. Rodriguez lands a head kick and Cortez shakes it off. Cortez steps in with a knee. Rodriguez moves forward behind a combination. Cortez looks for a level change but it’s denied. Rodriguez steps in with a knee and lands a shoulder strike in close quarters. He turns Cortez into the fence and lands more shoulders. Cortez turns his man around but isn’t landing offense. Rodrigeuz escapes and they trade. Rodriguez is getting the better of the exchanges once more. Rodriguez pressures with a combination and Cortez gets a body lock. Another shoulder strike lands for Rodriguez before the horn.

Round 3

Cortez shoots quickly but Rodriguez stuffs it. A right lands for Rodriguez. Another right lands for Rodriguez. The Roufusport fighter stalks his foe and lands a combination. Cortez secures a rear-body lock and drags Rodriguez down. Rodriguez is right back up and he’s fighting the hands of his opponent. They break and Rodriguez moves forward again. Cortez is firing off combinations of his own. But it’s a right from Rodriguez that lands clean. Cortez is more aggressive in exchanges, but he gets tagged and changes levels. Rodriguez defends and Cortez shoves him into the fence. Rodriguez spins off. They clinch again and Rodriguez follows a shoulder stirke with some short body punches. Cortez ducks under some punches and briefly drags Rodriguez to the mat. Cortez maintains the body lock. They separate and Rodriguez lands a solid jab. Rodriguez stays in Cortez’s face, throwing combinations. Cortez is game, but he can’t match the volume or get his opponent down. Cortez has Rodriguez pressed into the fence, but Rodriguez escapes again. They trade willingly in the final seconds in one final exchange, and Rodriguez stops another takedown at the horn.
