Colby Covington Claims Ali Abdelaziz Threatened To Kill Him

Colby Covington was in attendance last Saturday night at UFC 235 to witness the welterweight title fight between Tyron Woodley and Kamaru Usman, but before the weekend was over, he nearly ended up in a scuffle of his own.

The former interim 170-pound title holder was controversially passed over for the UFC 235 card, with the Ultimate Fighting Championship deciding to award Usman the chance to challenge Woodley instead. “The Nigerian Nightmare” completely dominated Woodley over the five rounds to become the new champion of the division.

Covington, who had already crashed Usman’s open workout earlier in the week, was in the crowd wearing a “Peoples Champion” t-shirt, a “Make America Great Again” hat and a pair of sunglasses and made sure he was noticed by the cameras during the event.

As Usman exited the Octagon after his win over Woodley, Covington confronted the new champ and his crew including Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz. The incident was over as quick as it started with security intervening. A day later, video surfaced of Covington and Usman nearly coming to blows at the Palms in Las Vegas with Abdelaziz swinging at Covington during the exchange.

“Chaos” appeared on the recent episode of ESPN’s Ariel Helwani MMA Show and claimed that Abdelaziz threatened his life during the exchange.

“That terrorist rat should get deported back to whatever country he snitched on. He shouldn’t even be allowed in this country for all the s--- he does. He’s over there trying to take swings at professional fighters. You know what else he told me? He told me he was going to track me down and shoot me and kill me. He said that to me. I swear to God on my life. I have witnesses that heard him say that.

“Ali tried to swing at me, but I’ve got cat-like reflexes, so obviously he’s not going to hit me. He’s slow as a [expletive] turtle. I heard that no one got in trouble. I heard that the Fertittas own the Palms, so I think they gave that terrorist rat a pass and they didn’t want to hurt Marty Usman’s chance of deporting him back to Nigeria before he gets his ass-whooping from me.”
