MMA DNA was first to report the welterweight scrap, and Ivy later confirmed the pairing via social media. The event is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is headlined by a light heavyweight clash pitting Thiago Santos against Glover Teixeira.
Barberena is looking to halt a two-fight skid after falling to Randy Brown and Vicente Luque via TKO in 2019. The MMA Lab export is 5-5 during his promotional tenure and 14-7 as a professional overall. “Bam Bam” has finished 12 of his triumphs inside the distance.
Ivy made his promotional debut at UFC on ESPN 10 on June 13, where he suffered a 59-second TKO defeat to Christian Aguilera. That setback snapped a five-bout winning streak for the San Antonio, Texas, native.
