Pereira faced Dae Sung Kim in February at Road FC 52 and put on a show for the fans, throwing flying strikes, spinning strikes, flipping strikes and anything unorthodox he could think of. Pereira ultimately finished Kim in the second round with knees, and left the commentary booth flabbergasted. Making his professional debut in 2011, Pereira has already amassed 33 career bouts, and competed seven times in 2018 alone. All seven of those bouts ended before the final bell.
While he has fought as high as 205 pounds in his career, "Demolidor" intends on contending in the welterweight division inside the Octagon. Recently, he explained to MMAFighting.com that, "Every athlete that fights MMA dreams of being in the UFC and that's my childhood dream. It's the biggest promotion in the world. The biggest MMA icons fight there." Soon, his dream will come true.
