Anatoly Tokov continues to announce himself as a force to be reckoned with in the Bellator MMA middleweight division.
Tokov (29-2) punished Hracho Darpinyan (17-9-2) over just under two rounds, beating Darpinyan to the punch, grounding him at will and moving effortlessly to the crucifix position in both rounds. Late in the second round, Tokov pinned Darpinyan’s arm in a crucifix and rained down short punches as referee Jason Herzog warned Darpinyan to defend himself. He failed to do so, and Herzog was forced to intervene at 4:38. The TKO makes five straight wins for Tokov in Bellator’s middleweight division and leaves him closer than ever to a shot at the title currently held by Rafael Lovato, Jr.
Mukhidinov Blanks Altamimi in Bellator Debut
Fighting for the first time in over two years, Salim Mukhidinov notched a very impressive win over Adel Altamimi in his Bellator debut. The Tajik fighter landed more and heavier shots on the feet for three increasingly dominant rounds, reducing Altamimi to guard pulls and low-percentage attacks in an effort to get any kind of offense going. The judges awarded the fight to Mukhidinov by 30-27, 29-27 and 29-26 scorecards. The win brings Mukhidinov’s career tally to 7-4, while Altamimi falls to 8-7.
