Awad hit the scales at 156 pounds, as he prepares to face Girtz (155.6) in the Bellator 219 main event this Saturday at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif. Co-headlining the event will be a lightweight tilt between former featherweight champ Daniel Straus (155.6) and Shane Kruchten (155.8) -- with all four making weight without issue at Thursday's early weigh-in.
Bellator 219 "Awad vs. Girtz," which airs simulcast on Paramount and DAZN at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, also features a welterweight matchup between former divisional kingpin Andrey Koreshkov (170.6) and short notice replacement Mike Jasper (171). Starting off the main card will be a middleweight clash between kickboxer Joe Schilling (186) and Keith Berry (186).
One fighter missed weight: David Pacheco (*156.4), who came in .4 pounds heavy for his lightweight bout and has been fined 20 percent of his total purse. Weber Almeida did not attend the weigh-ins, and his catchweight bout against Johnny Soto (141) has been scratched.
