Sherdog.com confirmed the pairing with a promotion official on Wednesday following an initial report from MMAjunkie.com. Bellator 207 takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Oct. 12 and is headlined by a heavyweight grand prix semifinal matchup pitting Matt Mitrione against Ryan Bader. The main card will air on Paramount Network and stream live on DAZN.

Nelson debuted in the California-based promotion with a three-round verdict over Javy Ayala before dropping a majority decision to Mitrione in the opening round of the heavyweight grand prix at Bellator 194 on Feb. 16. “Big Country” compiled a 9-9 record on the UFC prior to signing with Bellator.

Kharitonov, meanwhile, is unbeaten in his last five outings, although his most recent bout against Anton Vyazigin at M-1 Challenge 92 was ruled a no contest due to an eye poke. The Pride Fighting Championships veteran last appeared under the Bellator banner in March 2017, when he knocked out Chase Gormley in the first round at Bellator 175.
