Bellator 199 Medical Suspensions: Aaron Pico Facing 6 Months for Potentially Broken Hand

Star prospect Aaron Pico could be facing a lengthy time on the sidelines after his win against Lee Morrison at Bellator 199.

Pico, who used a left hook to the body and follow-up punches to dispatch Morrison 1:10 into the first round of their featherweight bout at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., on Saturday night, must receive medical clearance for a probable left-hand fracture or he will be suspended for 180 days. The California State Athletic Commission released a list of medical suspensions to MMAFighting.com on Wednesday.

Six other fighters from the Bellator 199 card are facing six-month suspensions, most notably Cheick Kongo, who requires doctor’s clearance for a probable left distal fibula fracture before he can compete again.

Everyone on the card received at least a seven-day mandatory medical suspension, per CSAC regulations.

Hugo Lujan: Requires doctor’s clearance on probable left foot fracture or suspended 180 days

Dominic Sumner: Suspended 180 days for dehydration/concussion, must be cleared by neurologist; minimum suspension of 45 days no contest, 30 days no contact due to TKO

Brandon Hester: Suspended 60 days for left eye laceration, fighter must be cleared by physician; suspended 45 days no contest, 30 days no contact due to TKO

Matt Aragoni: Suspended 60 days for head lacerations; suspended 45 days no contest, 30 days no contact due to TKO
