The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s event in London has just received a new featherweight attraction. The Las Vegas-based promotion announced through its social media feeds Tuesday that Arnold Allen will lock horns with Jordan Rinaldi at UFC London on March 16.
Englishman “Almighty” Allen has yet to taste defeat in the UFC. The 25-year-old prospect made his Octagon debut on short notice, scoring a late submission stoppage over Alan Omer at UFC Berlin in June 2015 and has since added three more promotional triumphs to his ledger. Allen is coming off a third-round submission win over Mads Burnell at UFC Liverpool this past May.
“All Day” Rinaldi has gone 2-2 under the UFC banner. The 31-year-old’s first foray into UFC came on short notice, as he lost unanimous decision to veteran slugger Abel Trujillo. Afterward, Rinaldi submitted Alvaro Herrera, but then the One Kick’s Gym product was stopped by up-and-coming fighter Gregor Gillespie. In his last trip to the Octagon, Rinaldi bested via unanimous decision former UFC contender Jason Knight, who was soon after released.
UFC Fight Night 147 will take place at O2 Arena in London on March 16. The event is also known as UFC on ESPN+ 5 and airs on streaming platform ESPN+. In the main event of the bill, English welterweight Darren Till will meet Jorge Masvidal in a welterweight bout.
