Anthony Pettis Confirms CM Punk Still Training At Roufusport; Unsure of Fighting Future

Former World Wrestling Entertainment super star Phil Brooks, better known as “CM Punk,” is still training MMA according to fellow Roufusport fighter and former UFC champion Anthony Pettis.

“Showtime”, who is fresh off his upset win over the No. 4-ranked Stephen Thompson in his UFC welterweight debut this past weekend, spoke to TMZ Sports and said “Punk” is still working hard at the gym, but claimed he was unsure whether the former WWE star turned UFC fighter will make another appearance.

“CM Punk is still there [at Roufusport],” Pettis said. “He’s doing more of the jiu-jitsu, the rolling. The time that he should have spent getting ready to fight is what he’s doing now. They put a lot of pressure on him. They made him come over with no experience and fight on the biggest stage. I don’t know anybody that could do that, not even some young kids. He is still training. I don’t know what his plan is. I know he’s doing some movies and a couple other things, but I don’t know if he plans on fighting again or what. He’s still training. He’s in the gym. That dude’s a hard worker.”

“Punk” has fought twice inside the UFC and looked completely out of his depth on both occasions. The 40-year-old made his UFC debut at UFC 203 in September 2016 against Mickey Gall, losing by submission in the first round, before losing a three-round unanimous decision at UFC 225 last June against fellow Gall victim Mike Jackson.
