All UFC 134 Drug Tests Come Back Clean

No banned substances were found in the UFC 134 postfight drug screens, the promotion announced Thursday.

Six fighters were tested in total, including main event competitors Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami. The promotion did not reveal the identities of the remaining four tested competitors. All six screens came back negative for both performance enhancing drugs and drugs of abuse.

Silva was in top form on Aug. 27, as “The Spider” knocked out No. 1 contender Yushin Okami in front of a partisan sellout crowd at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. The event also showcased strong performances by Silva's countrymen, as featured Brazilians posted a near-perfect 7-1 record against opposition from foreign countries.

Silva's former Chute Boxe teammate Mauricio Rua was nearly as impressive as the middleweight champion that night, as “Shogun” avenged a 2007 defeat to Forrest Griffin by knocking the American out in just under two minutes. Former Pride Fighting Championships heavyweight king Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira also looked sharp in victory, as he pressured Brendan Schaub against the cage and landed a beautiful punching combination that buckled Schaub's knees and spelled victory for the Brazilian icon.
