A callout can get you far these days in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, even if it means targeting a fighter in a different weight class.

Early Friday morning, the promotion announced a new matchup in the women’s flyweight division at UFC Austin in June. Following her move to flyweight, Alexa Grasso (11-3) will come to blows with Ji Yeon Kim (9-2-2) on June 27 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.

Grasso announced her move to the flyweight division after falling out of her UFC 246 bout due to a bad weight cut. She hit the scales at 121.5 pounds, 5.5 pounds above the strawweight limit, and her match with Claudia Gadelha was scratched. The fighter from Mexico has alternated wins and losses in her UFC career to date, taking decisions over Heather Clark, Randa Markos and Karolina Kowalkiewicz while dropping bouts against Felice Herrig, Tatiana Suarez and Carla Esparza.

“Fire Fist” scorched Nadia Kassem with vicious punches to the body with only one second remaining in the second frame of their UFC 243 encounter. In victory, Kim earned just the second clean knockout of any fight scheduled at the women’s 125-pound division, and the fifth body shot finish among all UFC female fighters. Following her triumph, the South Korean called out Grasso in an interview with MMA Junkie.

UFC Austin goes down at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, on June 27. No headliner has yet been announced, and the only other fight currently billed on the card is another flyweight matchup between Jennifer Maia and Viviane Araujo.
