On Wednesday, Seung Woo Choi (10-3) announced on his Instagram that he would be facing Caceres (18-12, 1 NC) at UFC Fight Night 196 on Oct. 23. The featherweights will square off inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and both will be putting solid winning streaks on the line.

Caceres has won his last four dating back the last two years, putting together his lengthiest victorious stretch since he started his career at 4-0. Along the way, “Bruce Leeroy” has defeated Steven Peterson, Chase Hooper and Kevin Croom on the scorecards, while tapping Austin Springer in the opening frame. The 33-year-old will officially be marking a decade of UFC competition when he comes into this bout, entering the Octagon for the 24th time.

South Korea’s Choi has prevailed in his last three contests, with decisions over Suman Mokhtarian and Youssef Zalal spring boarding him into a matchup against the resurgent Julian Erosa in June. “Sting” halted the momentum of Erosa by stinging him with punches and putting him out in the opening round. Both Choi and his opponent started their UFC careers off with a pair of defeats, only to go and bounce back with multiple wins and extend their tenures.

Slowly filling out is UFC Fight Night 196, which goes down at Las Vegas inside the UFC Apex on Oct. 23. The keynote matchup sees former middleweight title challengers square off as Paulo Costa faced Marvin Vettori. The bout placement of other matches on the card has not yet been determined, although it is expected the Livinha Souza-Randa Markos strawweight encounter will be placed higher on the billing. Additionally, Jun Yong Park vs. Gregory Rodrigues at middleweight has been booked for this Fight Night a well.
