The Ultimate Fighting Championship stayed home in Las Vegas and put on another show at its wondrous Apex building with UFC Fight Night 174. Anchoring the event was a pivotal heavyweight tilt between fan favorite Derrick Lewis and grappling wizard Alexey Oleynik, with the winner placing himself right in the thick of things regarding the division’s title picture.
Lewis closed the show by walking out to combat to hip-hop star Fat Pat’s “Tops Drop.” Oleynik came out to his usual “Ballad for the Suppression” from Vladimir Vysotsky.
Other standout tracks of the event were Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” (Chris Weidman); “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi (Scott Holtzman); Red Rider’s “Lunatic Fringe” (Andrew Sanchez); and Lauren Daigle’s “Still Rolling Stones” (Beneil Dariush).
