Fabian Edwards Eyes Becoming Bellator Champion While His Brother Has UFC Title

If things go according to Fabian Edwards’ plans, he will soon soon complete a family feat unheard of in MMA history to date.

Edwards (10-2, 6-2 Bellator) hopes to replicate what his brother, Leon Edwards, did in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and capture the divisional belt. This way, Leon would be the UFC 170-pound champion, while Fabian would reign over the Bellator MMA middleweight division. In the meantime, “The Assassin” has to get past Charlie Ward in the upcoming Bellator 287 co-headliner. While talking with Sherdog, Edwards confessed that he would love to see himself and his brother holding the championships of their respective weight classes in different promotions.

“That would be crazy. I’ve always envisioned it. My brother always had his eyes set on getting the gold, and he’s got that now. I’ve always had my eyes on the Bellator gold as well so once I go in there and achieve that, It’s gonna be history. I just can’t wait to go out there and accomplish that.”
