Two further bouts confirmed for The Score Fighting Series

(PRESS RELEASE) -- TORONTO, October 31st, 2012 – The Score Fighting Series (SFS) today confirmed two more bouts for its next event in Hamilton, Ontario on Friday, November 23rd.

Brandt Dewsbery and Ryan Dickson are out to ruin each other’s winning streak in a battle between two of MMA’s best young welterweights. Meanwhile, SFS veteran Alex Ricci will clash with series newcomer Kevin Morin in a lightweight battle, with all the main card action being televised live on theScore Television Network in Canada and on AXS TV in the U.S.

Hamilton native Dickson (4-0) will have strong local support among another expected sell-out crowd. An SFS veteran, Dickson has already chalked-up two wins in these events, most recently overcoming Christopher St. John via TKO at the same venue in August. Dickson is the prize student of former UFC fighter Jeff Joslin.

Ryan Dickson

Dewsbery (10-1) offers the sternest test to-date in Dickson’s young professional career. Protecting a five-fight win streak himself, Dewsbery doesn’t like to leave it in the judges’ hands, with only one of his wins coming via decision (4 T/KO, 5 SUB). He trains out of the Canadian Martial Arts Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta alongside high-level talent such as Nick Ring, Brad Cardinal and Jordan Mein.

This will be Ricci’s fifth SFS event, and the Woodbridge, Ontario native will be eager to bounce back from the first defeat of his professional career, which was handed to him by Jesse Ronson in August. Before that bout, Ricci had enjoyed unbroken success inside the SFS cage, recording three resounding T/KO victories over Mike Sledzion, Tim Smith and Iraj Hadin.

Opponent Kevin Morin (6-4) is making his SFS debut, but enters the cage bouyed by his win over Stephane Lamarche at Ringside MMA in March. That win for the man from Victoriaville, Quebec came via a unanimous decision.

The card will be headlined by a high-octane clash between Jordan Mein and Forrest Petz. Other confirmed match-ups include undefeated bantamweight star Josh Hill facing off against WEC veteran Rafael Rebello and Jesse Ronson taking on Ryan Healy in a lightweight tilt.

The main card at Hamilton Place Theatre will be televised live in Canada on theScore Television Network and in the US on AXS TV beginning at 10:00pm EST. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.ca.
