Badbeat 3 is proud to present a middleweight main event matchup between undefeated Joseph “Leonidas” Henle (4-0-1) against Goon Squad member James “Dr. Jekyll” Chaney. Henle competed on “The Ultimate Fighter” season 11 and is looking to entertain the Southern California crowd on August 20th.

“It’s great to share this fight with local So-Cal fans and sponsors and put on a great show for them,” said main event fighter Joseph Henle. “We have talked about it before but timing was not right and now BAMMA USA is a great place for me to fight. They are doing a great job putting on shows.”

Oakland native James “Dr. Jekyll” Chaney (3-1) has won 3 of his 4 professional fights which have come by way of submission. His exciting style of fighting hasn’t permitted any of his fights to make it past the second round.

“I am a really aggressive fighter and I look to be a strong and aggressive fighter in this fight,” said Chaney who started his career off quickly fighting and winning three times in four months. He earned a triangle choke victory over Ryan Wong, an armbar submission win over Daniel Price and then a first round guillotine choke against Joshua Turner.

After fighting for his life and beating cancer, Chris “The Real Deal” Beal (2-0) returns to the cage to take on Orange County’s Eric Winston (1-0) from Ace Jiu-Jitsu. Beal will compete after a 2 year hiatus that, at one point, he was informed by a doctor that he may never walk again let alone compete in mixed martial arts.

“After my October 2009 fight I found a small lump on my left leg. After going to a specialist we were informed that it was soft tissue sarcoma. I then went through three terms of chemotherapy, two rounds of radiation and underwent surgery twice. The surgeon cut part of my hamstring and tendons out of my leg and at one point I was told that I may lose it.”

Featherweight Ace Jiu-Jitsu representative Eric Winston won his pro MMA debut this year by way of a heel hook submission and is looking to ride the momentum from his last fight into this one. Both fighters are putting their undefeated records on the line as they meet on August 20th in the middle of the BAMMA USA cage.

In a clash of the counties, Diman “Steel Leg” Morris (3-1) from Los Angeles calls out Nick “Mercenary” Moghaddam (4-4) from Orange County. Diman’s only loss was delivered by former UFC middleweight Jared “J-Roc” Rollins. Morris is coming off an exciting 3-round split decision victory at M-1 Global just last month.

Moghaddam, an Allan Goes trained fighter has competed in Bellator Fighting Championships, won the past 4 of 6 fights and is no stranger to knocking his opponents unconscious. He scored a first round KO against Frank Navarez and plastered Reed Shelger with punches to win by TKO in the second round.

Los Angeles school teacher and Bellator veteran Albert Rios (12-6) and former Strikeforce competitor Bobby “The Kid” Sanchez (6-15) have agreed to go to war in a bantamweight pairing. Also scheduled for the professional card is lightweight Strikeforce veteran Dominic Clark (3-1) fighting out of Punch Kick Grapple (PKG) versus Alex Espindola (1-1) who competes out of the Millennium gym. Middleweights Michael Jasper (1-0) and Teshawn “Beast Mode” Walls (1-0) will also step inside the cage to start off the Badbeat 3 fight card.
