What: SportFight founder and MMA superstar Matt “The Law” Lindland has teamed up with Mark Cuban and HDNet to deliver yet another adrenaline-pumping night of mixed martial arts action at the Rose Garden on Friday, September 19th at 7pm. SportFight XXIV: Domination will offer up a stacked fight card featuring some of the most skilled and exciting athletes from both the Northwest and beyond, and will be broadcasted live across the country in crystal-clear 1080i high definition.

In this installment of SportFight, fans will be asked to weigh in on a debate that has been waged ever since the sport of mixed martial arts came into existence: Are MMA fighters nothing more than violence-prone barbarians, or are they finely-tuned and highly-skilled athletes competing in the purest form of sport, where it takes not only physical ability, but mental fortitude to walk out of the ring victorious? Come September 19th at SportFight XXIV: Domination, YOU DECIDE.

"I'd like to challenge everyone to come out to SportFight and make their own decision," says Lindland, President of SportFight, LLC. "You may have seen mixed martial arts on TV before, but nothing compares to the experience of witnessing these athletes compete live and in person. I think the people of Portland will be impressed with the sportsmanship, passion and dedication that these fighters show, both in and out of the ring."

Lindland knows a little something about decisions—in November he'll ask Oregonians to cast their vote for him as State Representative for House District 52. And true to form, at SportFight he'll provide local fans with everything they'll need to make an informed choice about MMA by offering up one of the most exciting fight cards to date.

Top Matchups: Main Event – Featherweight Championship

Enoch Wilson (Pictures) (Oregon Jiu Jitsu/Beaverton, Ore.) 10-4-1 Vs. Brian Geraghty (Pictures) (Freestyle Academy/Kenosha, Wisc.) 26-12-2

SportFight veteran Enoch Wilson (Pictures) will put his belt and two-and-half -year reign as featherweight champion on the line when he takes on Brian Geraghty (Pictures). Wilson has maintained his top-dog status thanks to an unmatched intensity in the ring and the skills to either take the fight to the ground or stand up and trade blows. But Geraghty—a longtime MMA veteran known for finishing fights via submission—is no stranger to the big stage, having competed in season five of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV.

Co-Main Event – Welterweight

Michael Pierce (Braveheart MMA/Gresham, Ore.) 4-2-0 Vs. Mark Miller (Pictures) (Hellhouse/Chicago, Ill.) 8-3-0

After losing his welterweight belt to Nathan Coy (Pictures) in a grueling five-round decision at the Rose Garden in June, Michael Pierce is on a mission to return to SportFight glory. Pierce—a strong grappler who wrestled in college at Portland State—will have his work cut out for him against Mark Miller (Pictures), a heavy-handed IFL veteran who claimed his most recent win by knocking out highly-respected fighter Josh Neer (Pictures) just 54 seconds into the first round of an IFL bout.

Other Fights of Interest
The remainder of the fight card reads like a who's-who of past SportFight warriors. There are exciting up-and-comers like featherweight Mike Joy (Pictures) and lightweight Dave Jansen (Pictures), big-hitting heavyweights like Mychal Clark (Pictures) and DJ Lindermann, and cagey veterans like Ian Loveland (Pictures) and Aaron Stark (Pictures).

But perhaps most intriguing is an amateur who will lead off the preliminary bouts by the name of Colt Tombs. Tombs got his first taste of victory at SportFight 23 in dramatic fashion, earning a TKO just 1:38 into the first round. Perhaps it's no surprise that Tombs feels comfortable inside the ring—his father, after all, is none other than WWE superstar Rowdy Roddy Piper. Tombs prefers to downplay his famous bloodlines, however, instead choosing to pay his dues and make a name for himself in the MMA world one fight at a time.
