Rage in the cage on GFL COMBAT SPORTS NETWORK

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Saturday, June 22, 2013 10:00pm ET featuring Rage in the Cage makes its long awaited and anticipated debut on GFL.tv on June 22 with RITC 166 as the top fighters from around Arizona and the surrounding states do battle in Arizona's premier MMA organization. RITC has been a proving ground for Arizona's top fighters for years and years and now the world will get to see the Grand Canyon State's next crop of champions. RITC is stacked with several quality matchups and 3 title fights.

In the main event, RITC Heavyweight Champion Dan Charles (6-0) battles Strikeforce veteran Adam Smith. Charles is a heavy handed punishing heavyweight as 3 of his victories have come via strikes and he has also added 2 by way of submission. Charles is a solid heavyweight with good cardio and he can throw strikes all day. Charles also has a well-versed wrestling game which usually ends up with him on top landing ground and pound to his opponent. Smith comes into the cage looking to prove his detractors wrong and upset the champion. Smith has KO power in both hands so he is capable of dethroning the champion with one punch. This fight shouldn't got to decision as both men will be head-hunting.

In the co-main event, Daniel Madrid (7-4) takes on Jacob Chagolla (7-2) for the vacant RITC Middleweight Title. Madrid recently fought for M-1 and finds himself returning to his old stomping ground in Arizona and going for gold. Madrid is a grappling specialist with 6 of his wins coming via tapout. Chagolla is another fighter that is hungry for gold as his career has seen him fight the best regional talents in the area. Chagolla is coming off a hard fought win against a game competitor where Chagolla had to show off his whole arsenal. This fight will be between two well-rounded fighters and the winner will be able to lay claim to the title and being recognized as one of the rising 185 lb fighters in the Southwest.

In other title action, undefeated RITC Lightweight Champion David Nuzzo (6-0) fights Jeff Fletcher (10-7) for the 155 lb crown. Nuzzo is a rising prospect in Arizona for his workman-like style, strong wrestling and ground control and slick submissions. Look for Nuzzo to come forward looking to land strikes or a takedown in the opening minutes. Fletcher already holds a title with another organization and has strung together quite a winning streak in his last several fights. Fletcher started his career off fighting anyone anywhere, and now with some fights under his belt he has gone on an impressive run. Expect this fight to be in the running for Fight of the Night.

Rage in the Cage is one of the pioneering MMA promotions in the United States. A plethora of current and past UFC fighters cut their teeth in RITC. Watch the stars of tomorrow compete today as RITC 166 comes to you live on June 22 on GFL.tv.
