ROAD Fighting Championship Announces the Featherweight Tournament Final

(PRESS RELEASE) -- ROAD Fighting Championship presents ROAD FC 014, the first numbered series event for 2014. ROAD FC 014 will be held in Seoul, South Korea at Seoul Olympic Hall on Sunday, February 9, 2014. The Main Event will be the Featherweight Tournament Final match between Kwon Bae-Yong and Choi Mu-Gyeom for the very first Featherweight Championship Belt ever to be awarded. This anticipated match will showcase two of the best Featherweights in ROAD FC.

Kwon Bae-Yong (9-3) is a Team Posse fighter and teammate to ROAD FC Lightweight Champion Nam Yui-Chul. Kwon is a well-rounded fighter who has shown his adaptability to his opponents' styles in his Tournament fights with top Japanese contenders Michihiro Omigawa and Kosuke Umeda. Kwon versus Omigawa was a spectacular match in which Kwon was able to gain the edge in all areas. Kwon then faced a fresh Umeda, who passed to the Semifinal because his Quarterfinal opponent Kim Chang-Hyun was unable to make weight. Kwon displayed one of ROAD FC's "Three Best KOs of 2013" when he landed a knee to the body to defeat Umeda. Kwon holds victories over former ROAD FC Bantamweight Champion Kang Kyung-Ho and former ONE FC Featherweight Champion Honorio Banario.

Choi Mu-Gyeom (3-3) is an MMA Story fighter under top Korean MMA fighter Cha Jung-Hwan. Choi is an intelligent striker who had a successful career in kick boxing before he began fighting MMA. In the Tournament Semifinal, Choi fought Martijn de Jong's Tatsujin Dojo striking prodigy Hubert Geven in a fast-paced and fierce bout that went the distance. Choi's striking stood out as smartly outpointed Geven to gain the Unanimous Decision win. Choi has now been able to pass on to the Final match without a Quarterfinal appearance because his opponent Kil Young-Bok was unable to make weight for their bout. Therefore Choi will be in top condition for the Final match. Choi has made his record fighting very tough opponents outside of Korea and he holds a win over Taichi Nakajima.

This Championship match is the first announcement for ROAD FC 014. More exciting matches on the card will be announced shortly.
