Kountermove to Host UFC 166 Fantasy MMA Tournament to Benefit 'Wishing for Mommy' Breast Cancer Fundraiser

(PRESS RELEASE) -- San Francisco, CA. – October 16, 2013 –Kountermove, the world’s leading Fantasy MMA community, has joined forces with Hollywood actor Ernie Reyes Jr. to host a very special UFC 166 Fantasy MMA charity tournament. The tournament will benefit ‘Wishing for Mommy’, a charity that issues grant money to children of breast cancer patients. The grant money goes towards fulfilling a special wish that the child has for their mother, who is battling breast cancer. ‘Wishing for Mommy’ is sponsored by Dignity Kids Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering communities through the spirit of martial arts. Reyes Jr. was recently appointed VP of the charity.

The “Wishing for Mommy’ tournament benefits a great cause and is free to participants. This ‘freeroll’ 50 player tournament has a $50.00 prize pool, so not only is it free to play, participants have a chance to win prizes as well. Kountermove’s ‘Wishing for Mommy’ Tournament is a great way to add entertainment to fight night, while benefitting a great cause!

According to Aaron Ard, co-founder of Kountermove, “We are thrilled to put together a special tournament to benefit “Wishing for Mommy’! It benefits a great cause and is sponsored by Dignity Kids Inc., a charity that was built on the fundamentals learned through martial arts. It is an honor to be a part of their fundraising efforts.”

Kountermove will donate up to $500 to ‘Wishing for Mommy’ based on the number of tournament players that participate. The goal is to fill all 50 spots! Fight fans have a chance to test their fight prediction skills against Hollywood actor Ernie Reyes Jr., world-renowned MMA coach Andre Benkei, MMA ‘Fight Music Producer’ Mikey Rukus, UFC veteran’s Frank Trigg and Houston Alexander, as well as other notable MMA personalities.

. ‘Wishing for Mommy’ is Seeking ‘Wishes’ to Grant: Children that would like to have their ‘Wish for Mommy’ considered must submit a one page written explanation describing their wish. They must include why the wish is significant to them and how they feel fulfilling the will positively impact their family. The nominating child must be between the ages of 3 and 18. An adult can nominate on behalf of a child who cannot write. Including as much detail as possible is recommended. Kountermove’s fantasy MMA games work very similar to fantasy football. Members pick a team of five fighters, under a $25,000 “salary cap," and compete with that team against other Kountermove players in their game. Winners are determined by fantasy points based on each fighter’s performance – strikes landed, submission attempts, knockdowns, dominant positions, rounds won, and knockout or submission bonuses.
