JOHN WAYNE PARR VS. COSMO ALEXANDRE TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON PPV IN AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND

(PRESS RELEASE) -- LAS VEGAS – Australia's John Wayne Parr, a 10-time Muay Thai world champion and living legend in the sport, battles Brazilian Cosmo Alexandre for the Lion Fight world title on Oct. 23 (24 October in Australia and New Zealand), marking the first time ever that an American Muay Thai event will be broadcast live on Pay-per-View in Australia and New Zealand.

The historic PPV, announced today, results from a partnership between Lion Fight CEO Scott Kent and Silvio Morelli, a longtime martial artist and publisher of International Kickboxer magazine. Lion Fight 25, which takes place at Pechanga Resort Casino in California and also includes a sizzling co-main event title clash between women's sensation Jorina Baars (37-0) and Czech Republic star Martina Jindrova, will be broadcast live on Oct. 24 in Australia and New Zealand on Fight Live TV (FightLiveTV.com).

“John Wayne Parr is a huge name in Muay Thai and our partnership with FightLiveTV.com assures that his many fans in Australia and New Zealand can watch live as he bids for his 11th world title – and it's downright mind-boggling when you think about how accomplished and entertaining JWP has been,” Kent said. “I must say, we founded Lion Fight almost five years ago and I'm as excited for Lion Fight 25 as I've ever been for a fight card. Big thanks to AXS TV, which continues to be an outstanding partner for us in the states, and to Silvio Morelli for making this monumental PPV event possible. Silvio is a visionary and martial arts mastermind who has done so much to grow and popularize the martial arts in Australia and New Zealand. I am thrilled that Silvio and Fight Live TV are teaming with us to offer fans a loaded card that includes big names such as JWP, Cosmo, Jorina, Jason Andrada, Mike Lemaire and an explosive up-and-comer like Marvin Madariaga. If you love great stand-up slugfests, artistry and fighters who lay it all on the line then you won't want to miss Lion Fight 25.”

For the American audience, Lion Fight 25 will be broadcast live on AXS TV starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on Friday, Oct. 23. The main card features 7 bouts. The evening's headliner, Wayne Parr vs. Alexandre, carries even greater significance when you consider that these titans have tussled twice before – each man getting his hand raised once – and their October affair will finally deliver the trilogy that fans have waited years to see.

“Our third fight will be action-packed!” says Parr (88-30-1), still age-defying in the ring at 39 years of age. “I won the first fight, Cosmo won the second. He’s a great fighter and I have a lot of respect for him… but I will bring my A-game and plan to win! This is our third fight and we both want to prove a point — so it’s guaranteed we won’t be leaving anything in the tank!”

“I have never seen Wayne Parr so motivated, so focused in his preparation for a fight before, as for this fight,” Morelli said. “It seems that this fight is the most important fight of his life to date. He is out to prove the critics wrong and show everyone that he still has what it takes. My money is on JWP”.

Tickets for Lion Fight 25 can be purchased at www.pechanga.com or by contacting Pechanga's Box Office at 1-877-711-2WIN. Tickets range in price from $50 to $100 per seat.

In America, LION FIGHT 25 airs live on AXS TV starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. The broadcast will feature play-by-play and color commentary by UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich alongside renowned sports commentator Michael “The Voice” Schiavello.
