(PRESS RELEASE) -- There have been some significant changes in the
FFC 19 Sofia fight card since one of the fighters of the co-main
event sustained an injury during his preps.
Due to serious issues with his knee, Tomislav Spahović had to cancel the match against Germany's Nicolai Salchow for the second time already. Salchow was unable to fight Spahović at FFC 7 in Sarajevo, while this time „The BH Beast“ sustained a knee injury. However, the organizers managed to find an adequate replacement and the undefeated Salchow is now to fight Bulgaria's Atanas Djambazov who readily stepped up.
The Bulgarian fighter has a professional score of 20 wins and 4
losses. He also fought twice in Bellator, but without significant
success. He was defeated by Emanuel
Newton and Egidijus
Valavicius. He suffered his last loss in February 2014 after
which he returned to the winning streak with two victories in
smaller promotions. On the other hand, Salchow fought at FFC 15 in
Poreč where he defeated the undefeated Matej Batibić via KO in the
first round. His current score is 5-0.
Moreover, there has been one more change in the MMA fight card. Serbian fighter Dušan Džakić was to fight Bulgaria's Pavel Georgiev who had to cancel due to the fist fracture. Džakić in now to fight Romania's Aurel Pirtea who already fought at FFC in Vienna and lost to Kristijan Perak. Pirtea then fought in the middleweight division but now he dropped to welterweight. He recently returned to the winning streak after four consecutive losses and currently has a 4-4 score. Džakić last fought in Ljubljana at FFC 18 where he lost to Ivan „The Braveheart“ Gluhak.
