“It’s an honor to host this event for 559 Fights and in the Central Valley,” said 559 Fights president Jeremy Luchau. “We’ve worked extremely hard this year to build a product MMA fans in the Valley can love. I think that with CAMO intrusting us with this event shows how far we’ve come since April with our first event.”

Visalia’s Sandor Escobar (7-1) will headline the 15-bout card. Escobar has become one of the Valley’s top amateur fighters over the last few years and will be tested against San Jose lightweight J.J. Okanovich (5-1).

“Sandor is a 559 Fights veteran and has fought all over the Valley. He is an Up-N-Comers champion and trains with one of the top gyms in the area,” Luchau said. “We are pleased to have a guy like Sandor fighting for us again.”

Tickets start at just $25 and can be purchased at the Tulare County Fair office, Visalia’s MMA Gear in the Sequoia Mall in Visalia and at www.559fights.com.

VIP packages are also available and can be purchased by contacting [email protected].

Doors open at 6 p.m. and fights start at 7 p.m.

In the co-main event, Hanford light heavyweight Aaron Mathis (3-1) tangles with San Jose’s Brandon Hester (7-2).

Other tournament semifinals include; Modesto heavyweight Richard Treas (3-0) vs. Bakersfield’s Josh Powell (3-0), Oceano featherweight Richard Parra (7-5) vs. East Palo Alto’s Casey Jackson (4-3), Modesto cruiserweight Myles Shaw (5-2) vs. Milpitas’ Michael Ortega (4-1), Milpitas bantamweight Isaiah Batin-Gonzalez (4-2) vs. Del Pason Heights’ Jesse Henderson (6-1), Sacramento middleweight Eric Smith (4-1) vs. East Palo Alto’s Angelo Henry (6-6) and Daly City welterweight Sasha Montgomery vs. East Palo Alto’s Nikko Jackson (10-5).

“This is an outstanding field of fighters and whoever moves on to the state finals in December I’m sure will represent Northern California well,” Luchau said. “This is a great opportunity for some fighters in different areas of NorCal to be featured away from home and gain some new fans.”

The preliminary bouts include some highly anticipated local showdowns, but none compare to a featherweight battle between Lemoore’s Alberto Arreola (5-0) and Visalia’s Cameron Ramirez (2-1).

“I think that this is a fight a lot of people have wanted to see for a long time,” Luchau said. “I think either guy is more than capable of competing in the tournament at 145 or 155. This fight is going to be fireworks.”

Another fight that local fans have penciled as “one-to-watch” is Tulare’s Edgar Loza (3-0-1) vs. Gilroy featherweight Adin Duenas (3-0).

“Again, this is another fight that probably could have taken place in the tournament,” Luchau said. “I think that there is a lot of talent in Northern California. Loza is really one of those fighters that fans fall in love with and Duenas is as talented as a wrestler you will see compete at the amateur level.”

In other bouts; -Kingsburg heavyweight John Mathison (1-3) vs. Hanford’s Moses DeSoto (0-0).

-Exeter featherweight Alex Valencia (1-1) vs. Hanford’s Devon Morris (0-1).

-Tulare bantamweight Lawrence Aytman (0-0) vs. Bakersfield’s Holt Felkins (1-0).

-Visalia bantamweight Manuel Ruiz (1-0) vs. Hanford’s Joey Martinez (1-1).

-Visalia youth 115 pounder Anthony Aguirre (0-1) vs. Fresno’s Ricky Perez (1-0).
