BIG TIME MMA COMES TO MUSKEGON MICHIGAN IN DECEMBER

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) continues its rise into the main stream of sports. MMA continues to hold the unofficial title, “the worlds fastest growing sport.” And with its rise, fight promotions are popping up all over the US with hopes of becoming the next big thing. Unfortunately for fight fans, whether it’s due to bad planning, marketing, financials, etc. most of these promotions come and go leaving fighters searching for a stage to showcase their talents.

One promotion that continues to build momentum with each show is Xtreme Fighting Championship (XFC). Since it’s inception in 2010, the Florida based promotion has promoted twenty-six events in five states and has partnered with AXS TV that televises XFC events to a national audience.

On December 13th, the rising promotion comes to Muskegon, Michigan with XFC 27: Frozen Fury. The bout lineup promises to give fans a night of MMA they won’t soon forget. “We’re excited to make our first trek to the Northern part of the United States,” said TJ Alcock, XFC Director of Communications. "As a nationally televised, traveling, promotion we have found some of the highest-level fighters from each region we’ve been to and Michigan is no different,” he continued.

The State of Michigan is no stranger to the world of combat sports. Michigan has a rich history in the world of professional boxing such as Detroit’s The Brown Bomber, Joe Louis. Tommy “The Hitman” Hearns moved to Detroit at a young age and represented the Motor City well with his boxing career. Now with the surge of MMA, a new breed of fighters from all over the Great Lakes State are searching for that one opportunity that can propel them to the next level.

XFC has built a reputation of finding talent across the US and giving them a platform where the stage belongs to them. “To be able to give several local (Michigan) fighters a chance to showcase their talents on one of the biggest stages in the World and be promoted Worldwide through the XFC’s industry leading media team, it feels good knowing the opportunities we are offering for young fighters with such big dreams,” said Alcock.

What separates XFC from other promotions is the event itself. XFC prides itself in giving the patrons more bang for their buck. Bouts are evenly matched and the production spares no expense. XFC understand that the fighters and fans are the main ingredients of its success and putting on a world-class event is a way of saying “thank you.”

“The event has really come together rather smoothly and the XFC cannot wait to head up north into the cold climate and heat it up with some of the best male and female mixed martial arts fights in the industry,” said XFC Matchmaker John Prisco. “We’ve got some great fights in store for the fans and can’t wait to show everyone why we are one of the top promotions on television,” he continued.

The lineup features several Michigan fighters who look to become household XFC names. “At the end of the night, I'll be very excited if we find ourselves adding a few new fighters to the XFC roster!,” said Prisco.

Be sure to join XFC at the weigh-ins on Thursday Dec. 12th for an open meet and greet with the fighters and staff then head to the L.C. Walker arena on Friday Dec. 13th for a night of hard-hitting XFC MMA action, televised on AXS TV. Tickets start at $19+, with VIP Tables available on request.
