An injury has forced Santiago Ponzinibbio to withdraw from his upcoming welterweight match with Jordan Mein at UFC on Fox 11.

“Young Gun” will now instead meet reigning Shooto titlist Hernani Perpetuo, who will make his Octagon debut at the April 19 event from the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. The bout is expected to air on the evening’s Fox Sports 1-broadcast preliminary card, which precedes the main draw live on the Fox Network.

Just 24 years old, Mein already owns 36 pro bouts to his credit. The Canadian was successful in his Octagon foray against veteran Dan Miller last March but then ran into Matt Brown in April, suffering a second-round knockout at the hands of “The Immortal” at UFC on Fox 7.

Perpetuo, meanwhile, has not lost since August 2010 and rides a seven-fight winning streak into his UFC debut. The 28-year-old Brazilian last competed in August, when he outpointed Tommy Depret to win the Shooto title at Shooto Brazil 42.
