When it comes to the matter of unfinished business, few parties have more to resolve than the Nevada Athletic Commission and Anderson Silva.

At the moment, however, “The Spider” seems to be focused on a rematch with UFC 183 foe Nick Diaz.

“I believe that there [are] some things that are unfinished between me [and] Nick Diaz,” Silva wrote on Instagram. “I now hope that you, Dana White can accept my request [and] make a rematch possible in my country, Brazil.”

Silva and Diaz failed drug tests following the Brazilian’s five-round unanimous decision victory on Jan. 31 in Las Vegas, and both received temporary suspensions from the NAC on Feb. 17. Silva and Diaz are expected be fined and suspended at a future disciplinary hearing, and Silva’s victory could also be overturned to a no contest.

With all that in mind, it is unclear when Silva – or Diaz – will be able to return to the Octagon. Silva also recently expressed a desire to to compete in taekwondo for Brazil in the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Silva tested positive for two different anabolic steroids -- drostanolone metabolites and androsterone -- during a pre-fight drug test administered ahead of his bout with Diaz on Jan. 9. The former middleweight champion also tested positive for Oxazepam and Temazepam in a post-fight urine test administered on Jan. 31. Oxazepam is used to relieve anxiety, while Temazepam is an anti-insomnia medication. In addition, “The Spider” again tested positive from drostanolone metabolites.

Diaz, meanwhile, tested positive for marijuana in a post-fight drug test following the UFC 183 main event. The Stockton, Calif., resident’s urine sample had 300 nanograms per milliliter of marijuana metabolites, which is double the NAC’s allowable limit of 150 ng/mL. It was Diaz’s third positive test for marijuana in Nevada.
