Welterweights Warlley Alves, Colby Covington to Clash at UFC 194

A battle of unbeaten welterweight prospects is set for UFC 194, as Warlley Alves will meet Colby Covington in Las Vegas on Dec. 12.
The Las Vegas-based promotion recently announced the contest. UFC 194 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and is headlined by a featherweight title clash between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.
Alves, 24, is 9-0 as a professional, including three victories inside the Octagon. The X-Gym representative last appeared at UFC 190, submitting Nordine Taleb with a guillotine choke 4:11 into round two. Alves also owns promotional triumphs over Alan Jouban and Marcio Alexandre Jr.
Anchored at American Top Team, the 27-year-old Covington is also 3-0 in the UFC. In his most recent outing, he outpointed veteran foe Mike Pyle at UFC 187 on May 23. Five of Covington’s eight career victories have come by way of submission.
