Weekend Fight Odds: UFC Fight Night 108, Bellator 178, Berto vs. Porter

This weekend is loaded from top to bottom with plenty of professional fights, both in mixed martial arts and boxing. With UFC Fight Night 108 and Bellator 178 anchoring the MMA side of things and a major boxing event on Showtime as well as a Top Rank pay-per-view card, there are more options for savvy bettors than usual.

Cub Swanson is set to take on Artem Lobov in the main event of UFC Fight Night 108, which goes down Saturday night in Nashville, Tenn. Swanson, one of the most beloved fighters on the UFC roster due to his willingness to stand and trade with everybody, currently rests as a sizable betting favorite over Lobov. Swanson, who rose to fame in the WEC, stands as a -675 favorite while Lobov, one of Conor McGregor’s main teammates, is a +500 underdog.

While there aren’t too many lopsided matches on the rest of the UFC card, fan favorite and “The Ultimate Fighter 1” champion Diego Sanchez is a +315 underdog to Al Iaquinta, who has been sitting idle for two years. Iaquinta is a -400 favorite going in.

The main event of Bellator 178 will see Daniel Straus finally return from a gruesome broken hand to fight rival Patricio Freire for the fourth time. As of this writing, Straus is a slight favorite to retain his title at -160. “Pitbull,” meanwhile, is a small ‘dog at +135.

On the boxing side of things, former IBF world welterweight champion Shawn Porter sits as a hefty favorite over former two-time 147-pound titlist Andre Berto. Porter is currently sitting on the books at -575 while Berto is a +435 ‘dog.

The co-feature to the Showtime-televised event, however, is expected to be a gross mismatch. Reigning WBC super welterweight king Jermell Charlo is a massive betting favorite at -1650 while his challenger, Charles Hatley, is hovering around +900 going into the weekend.
