Urushitani-Docyogen, Leone-Eustaquio Targeted for One FC 9 in Philippines

A flyweight showdown between former UFC talent Yasuhiro Urushitani and URCC champion Rey Docyogen is on tap for One FC 9.

Sherdog.com confirmed the booking Tuesday with a source close to One Fighting Championship, who also verified that Filipino talent Geje Eustaquio will take on Road FC vet Andrew Leone at the May 31 event.

Subtitled “Rise to Power,” One FC 9 takes place at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines, and will showcase a featherweight title tilt between reigning champion Honorio Banario and challenger Koji Oishi.

Urushitani, 36, captured Shooto’s 123-pound title in 2010, successfully defending the belt once before joining the UFC flyweight division last year. The Japanese standout would go winless in his Octagon career, however, falling by knockout to Joseph Benavidez in the UFC’s four-man flyweight tournament before dropping a unanimous decision to hard-hitting Brazilian John Lineker this past November at UFC on Fuel TV 6.

Docyogen, meanwhile, began his career a perfect 10-0 and captured the Universal Reality Combat Championship 119-pound title before stumbling in his most recent outing, as “The Punisher” was submitted in his One FC debut by former Shooto champ Shinichi Kojima on Feb. 2. Docyogen, 30, has stopped eight of his 10 victims, earning four knockouts and four submissions over nearly seven years of competition.
