UFC on Fuel TV 2 Bonuses: Pickett, Page, Bahadurzada, Maguire Rake $50,000

Four men walked away with post-fight bonuses at UFC on Fuel TV 2, as Brad Pickett, Damacio Page, John Maguire and Siyar Bahadurzada each took home an extra $50,000 on Saturday.

Pickett and Page were awarded “Fight of the Night” for their two-round bantamweight affair, while Maguire and Bahadurzada pocketed “Submission of the Night” and “Knockout of the Night,” respectively. Headlined by a light heavyweight conflict between hometown favorite Alexander Gustafsson and American Top Team representative Thiago Silva, UFC on Fuel TV 2 marked the UFC’s inaugural trip to Sweden and took place at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.

Pickett and Page traded tit-for-tat early in their 135-pound scrap, exchanging punches and takedowns before the Brit began to find his range. “One Punch” began to catch his man consistently on the end of his range, eventually tagging Page with a hard uppercut and hook that staggered “The Angel of Death.” Picket then took Page’s back and finished the fight with a rear-naked choke.

Bahadurzada wasted no time in taking out Paulo Thiago, catching the Brazilian early in round one with a sledgehammer shot that ended the contest. After a brief feeling-out process, Thiago charged forward recklessly, only to be met by a short right to the jaw that relieved him of his consciousness just 42 seconds into the fight.

Self-described as a “gypsy jiu-jitsu” practitioner, Maguire put his nomadic grappling art to good use on Saturday, tapping out DaMarques Johnson with a straight armbar late in the second round of their back-and-forth welterweight affair. Though “Darkness” held his own for much of the fight, he made a critical error by overcommitting on a kimura attempt from the bottom and saw Maguire transform the hold into the fight-ending submission as a result.
