UFC on Fox 25 Draws 1.64 Million in Overnights, Lowest UFC on Fox Overnight Rating to Date

The initial ratings for the UFC on Fox 25 are anemic.

According to overnight ratings released by Neilsen, the UFC's Saturday debut at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, drew 1.64 million viewers, the lowest overnight number for any UFC on Fox card. The card was headlined by former UFC middleweight champion and Long Island native Chris Weidman's rousing third-round submission of Kelvin Gastelum.

The lowest overnight UFC on Fox rating prior came this past April, when Demetrious Johnson's UFC on Fox 24 title defense against Wilson Reis drew a 1.74 million overnight.

Not all is grim, however. Without the benefit of shoulder promotion from the National Football League on Fox, network UFC cards have traditionally struggled during July. Also, due to the early start time of the main card on the West Coast, adjusted DVR +3 numbers may help the final number as viewers in the West catch up on the fights.

On a positive note, the UFC on Fox 25 broadcast drew a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic, tying with NBC's “Dateline,” which was the strongest number in the coveted demographic among the four major networks.
