UFC on Fox 12 Gets Tim Means-Hernani Perpetuo Welterweight Tilt in San Jose

Tim Means and Hernani Perpetuo will collide at welterweight when the Octagon returns to San Jose, Calif., this summer.

UFC officials Thursday announced the booking, which takes place July 26 at the SAP Center and airs live on the Fox Network. Means’ bout with Perpetuo is expected to appear on the preliminary card, which airs live on Fox Sports 1 prior to the main draw telecast.

Means, 30, was release by the UFC last year on the heels of back-to-back defeats, but “The Dirty Bird” rebounded with consecutive wins on the local circuit to earn a call-back from the Las Vegas-based promotion. The former King of the Cage champion made his Octagon return two weeks ago at UFC Fight Night “Silva vs. Brown,” suffering a unanimous decision defeat to Neil Magny.

Perpetuo, 28, saw a seven-fight winning streak snapped in his April 19 UFC debut, dropping a split decision to Canadian talent Jordan Mein at UFC on Fox 11. Prior to that setback, the Brazilian won Shooto’s 167-pound title last August in a unanimous decision win over Tommy Depret.
