Walt Harris vs. Nikita Krylov

Round 1

Krylov starts with kicks, targeting the legs and body of Harris, who sends straight punches down the center from the southpaw stance. Krylov connects with a right roundhouse kick to the side of Harris’ head, sending the American backpedaling and covering up. A right hand puts Harris down near the base of the fence, and Krylov swarms him with ground-and-pound until referee Rob Madrigal intervenes.

The Official Result

Nikita Krylov def. Walt Harris via TKO (Head Kick and Punches) R1 0:25

Mike Rhodes vs. George Sullivan

Round 1

Rhodes stays on his back foot to start the fight, looking to counter while Sullivan inches forward. Sullivan scores with four or five leg kicks on the southpaw, has a pair of high kicks swiped away. Rhodes switches to orthodox stance and lands a low kick of his own; he slips and falls but pops right back up before Sullivan can pounce. Sullivan keeps the leg kicks coming until Rhodes moves in to clinch against the cage, and “Biggie” hits a suplex to dump Sullivan to the ground. Sullivan stands up, Rhodes still attached to his back as they work on the fence. Sullivan turns around and separates with about two minutes left in the round. Rhodes tries some kicks of his own, nothing landing flush, until Sullivan shoots for a double-leg against the fence. The second effort puts Rhodes on the ground, but he tries a kimura from underneath. Sullivan counters by stepping into full mount and dropping short right hands while Rhodes tries to finish the submission.

Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Sullivan
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Rhodes

Round 2

The welterweights trade leg kicks early in round two; one from Rhodes appears to stray to the cup, but Sullivan says he’s alright and they fight on. Sullivan is stringing together combinations now, although still not landing anything too cleanly. Rhodes sticks a jab, takes a leg kick in return. Rhodes’ left hand to the body is followed by a right hook up top, and he sails at Sullivan with a jump knee to finish the attack. Sullivan is still coming up short on his punches, and Rhodes catches him leaning over to score with an uppercut. Rhodes complains of a low blow near the one-minute mark, but referee John McCarthy tells the fighters to continue. Sullivan closes in to clinch and Rhodes turns it around with a takedown attempt of his own. Sullivan reverses, trying for a takedown to finish the frame.

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Rhodes
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Rhodes

Rhodes holds Sullivan against the fence midway through the final round, sneaking around to try and take the back before separating. Sullivan grazes with a big overhand right, countered by a jab and a spinning kick to the body by Rhodes. Sullivan connects with a couple leg kicks before being wrapped up by Rhodes again. Rhodes tries to take the back, but Sullivan turns around and grabs for a single-leg, briefly putting Rhodes on the canvas. Daron Cruickshank vs. Mike Rio

Round 1

Rio inches forward on Cruickshank, who paws with speedy jabs to keep “The Wolverine” at bay. Not much action through the first 90 seconds, though Cruickshank whips a few good kicks at the inside of Rio’s lead leg. Rio steps into the pocket and eats a right hand, ties up and hits Cruickshank with a pair of knees to the body before separating. Cruickshank sends a one-two down the center, follows up with another cracking leg kick, this one answered in kind by Rio. The lightweights both try for straight punches, each jumping back and circling out when the other throws. Rio looks to close in with a pair of punches and instead takes a spinning kick to the midsection. Rio dips in with a wide left hook, followed by a short right on the chin of Cruickshank, who answers with another spinning kick. Cruickshank connects with a nice overhand right off a feint. Cruickshank sticks a pair of punches in Rio’s face and follows up with a head kick that sends Rio to the ground. Cruickshank tries to finish with a 10-finger guillotine, can’t get it and instead punches Rio when he stands. Rio dives for a takedown in the last seconds, sprawled on by Cruickshank.

TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Cruickshank

Round 2

Rio shoots for another single and gets stuffed by Cruickshank, who separates with a pair of punches and resets to deliver a hard leg kick. Cruickshank misses with a hook kick but scores with a lovely right hook-body kick combination. Rio blocks a high kick and counters with a counter left hook. A right hand on the chin nearly takes the legs out from under Rio, but he stays up and continues trying to close the distance on Cruickshank. It’s no easy task, as Cruickshank is doing well to keep Rio at bay with jabs and kicks. Rio moves in for a takedown, only to be taken down by Cruickshank and wind up on the mat. Rio grabs hold of Cruickshank’s left leg and goes for a heel hook, forcing Cruickshank to go on the defensive. It takes a minute, but Cruickshank is able to step over and extract his leg, winding up in north-south position with Rio on his knees. Rio stands and circles out, only to eat a huge wheel kick on the face. Rio is dazed, leaning against the fence, and Cruickshank bombs him with punches until Rio slumps to the ground and ref Herb Dean waves it off.

Daron Cruickshank def. Mike Rio via TKO (Wheel Kick and Punches) R2 4:56

Ramiro Hernandez vs. Hugo Viana

Round 1

Hernandez hops back up and eats a left, but he appears to have recovered as he circles around the outside and blocks Viana’s next combo. Viana puts a front kick on Hernandez’s body, backs up and allows Hernandez to chase after him for a moment. Viana lands another right hand up top and goes to the body of Hernandez with a kick. Hernandez ducks under a wide left hook and throws a kick to Viana’s body, but Viana counters with another right hand. Combinations are scoring for Viana now, and Hernandez is forced to back away and cover up while the Brazilian is on the attack.

Viana, for his part, is sticking to the outside and not engaging much through the first half of the round, to the displeasure of some in the Chicago crowd. Hernandez scores with a left hook, and Viana fires back with a hard, straight right down the center, followed by more wide hooks. Viana finishes the round with a sequence of right hands over the top and a few kicks to the body, while Hernandez finishes the round with blood streaming from his right eye.

Viana goes straight back to the outside, forcing Hernandez to chase after him and scoring with hard, wide punches whenever the American gets into range. Eighty seconds in, Hernandez makes Viana miss with a right and counters with a nice, short left hook inside. Viana just cuts an angle, resets and pops Hernandez with a pair of punches before dipping away again. Hernandez walks him down and clips him with another right hand, and this one puts Viana on skates for a moment. Viana catches Hernandez leaning over and connects with an overhand right behind the ear. Hernandez is sporting another cut now, this one on his hairline, coating the right side of his face with blood. Two minutes left and Viana is almost jogging now, constantly circling away from Hernandez, who won’t stop chasing him. Hernandez puts his hands down and waves Viana forward, then mocks the Brazilian by jogging in place. Viana just keeps circling, and Hernandez closes in to score with a clean right to the jaw. He moves in toward Meza against the fence, and Meza turns a failed takedown try into a clinch on the cage. Meza wrestles him to the ground and gets swept, with Camus winding up in Meza’s butterfly guard. They move away from the fence and Meza wraps up Camus in closed guard. Camus postures up to land some very short punches but can’t get much separation. After 90 seconds on the ground, ref Torriero stands them up and Camus immediately drills Meza with a right straight. Meza tries to fend him off with a front kick, but Camus closes in and hits another takedown. Meza briefly holds a headlock and then releases, and Camus thwarts a sweep attempt. Meza succeeds in getting Camus back into guard, but as he tries for another sweep, Camus is able to step into full mount. Camus stands up, allowing Meza to roll over, and then sits down in back-mount. Camus tries to parlay the position into an arm-triangle, but Meza peels his arms off and Camus goes back to full mount. Another sweep fails for Meza, allowing Camus to retake back-mount. Camus is too high on the back and Meza slips out the back door, then chases after Camus on feet to try a takedown of his own. He breaks Meza’s posture and manages to secure the position as he tries to snake his arm under Meza’s chin. Meza rolls over, putting Camus back in mount with about two minutes left in the fight. Camus loses the position as Meza rolls again and uses the cage to scrape him off. They scramble up and Camus lands another takedown, achieving full mount one last time before the horn.

Wineland goes body-head, then back up top with a left hook that makes Jabouin circle out. Jabouin lands a kick to the body and a quick jab, and he snuffs out a shot from Wineland inside the last 30 seconds. Jabouin recovers quickly and slaps Wineland’s face again with a high kick. They come off the fence and Wineland drills him with another right. Jabouin hits the deck and Wineland follows him down, framing up an arm-triangle choke from full mount. Wineland gives up the choke and sits up to drill Jabouin with nasty elbows. Jabouin surrenders his back and Wineland unloads with punches, then sits up to assess the situation. Jabouin is just covering up as Wineland drops heavy left hands, and referee Rob Madrigal has seen enough.

Pettis is keeping Caceres on the outside, cutting off the “TUF” veteran’s angles. After a number of blocked high kicks, Pettis gets one through and it sends Caceres stumbling for a moment. Pettis rocks Caceres’ head with a straight left, and Caceres pushes him away with a teep kick. Caceres connects with a one-two but eats a straight right and then a head kick. Now it’s Caceres taking the center and rattling off unorthodox strikes, spinning back kicks and double-handed punches. They don’t land clean but they do serve to slow Pettis’ roll. Pettis gets going again with a slapping head kick, then a straight right hand. Caceres backs him away with a push kick and ducks under a wheel kick.
