UFC Vets Daley, Fioravanti on Point for Ringside MMA 12 Headliner

Both Ringside MMA 12 main event competitors hit their contracted weights at Thursday’s weigh-in, as UFC veterans Paul Daley and Luigi Fioravanti tipped the scales under the welterweight limit with a one-pound allowance.

Both men weighed in at 170.4 pounds for their headlining attraction, which goes down Friday from the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Preceding the main event will be a co-headliner pitting onetime Bellator Fighting Championships talent Mike Ricci (155) against Daron Cruickshank (154.8) for the Ringside lightweight title.

Additionally, Maximum Fighting Championship and King of the Cage veteran David Harris (136.8) will lock horns with Mitch Gagnon (136), while Alex Garcia (171) and Matt MacGrath (173.8) face off in what was scheduled to be a welterweight showdown. Airing live on pay-per-view, the main draw will also feature Kevin Morin (155) toeing the line against Jason Saggo (156).

Known for his punching power, Daley (Pictured, File Photo) has earned 20 of his 28 career wins by knockout. “Semtex” has been victorious in five of his last seven outings, recently rebounding with a win over Jordan Radev on Sept. 10 after suffering back-to-back Strikeforce defeats to Nick Diaz and Tyron Woodley.

Fioravanti, 30, rides a two-fight skid heading into his showdown with the heavy-handed Brit. The 30-year-old has gone 2-2 in 2011, opening the year with wins over Mitch Whitesel and Mike Geurin before being outpointed by Andrei Semenov and Joe Doerksen in April and June, respectively. Representing American Top Team Orlando, “The Italian Tank” has finished more than half of his career victims by knockout or submission.
