UFC, USA Wrestling Announce Plans to Renew Partnership for Second Year
The Ultimate Fighting Championship and USA Wrestling have agreed to renew their partnership, according to a Tuesday release.
The Las Vegas-based promotion and the national governing body for wrestling in the United States began working together last year to promote interest in both sports. According to the release, the UFC’s reach will be utilized to help grow USA wrestling, as “its activities will be featured across several areas such as UFC’s broadcasts, social and digital media.”

“USA Wrestling is pleased to renew its partnership with UFC, coming off a successful first year working together. Our sports are closely entwined, and there are many ways we can help support each other, USA Wrestling executive director Rich Bender said. “We look forward to finding creative and effective ways to add even more value to this strong relationship.”
A number of athletes with ties to USA Wrestling have experienced success in the UFC, including Daniel Cormier, Henry Cejudo, Sara McMann, Matt Lindland and Dan Henderson, to name a few.
