Former UFC strawweight title challenger Claudia Gadelha will hold her upcoming training camp at Luttrell-Yee MMA in Albuquerque, N.M., after parting ways with Nova Uniao.

Sherdog.com confirmed the move on Wednesday with both Gadelha and head trainer Chris Luttrell. Luttrell, an Albuquerque police officer, was the first person to earn a black belt under Greg Jackson. Although he is no longer directly affiliated with Jackson-Wink MMA, many of the prominent gym’s fighters still work with him on occasion. Gadelha confirmed that she will also supplement her training with sparring at Jackson-Wink (online sportsbooks).

Earlier this month, Combate reported that Gadelha split with Nova Uniao following a dispute with head coach Andre Pederneiras. However, Gadelha didn’t mention any disagreement, instead saying that it was simply time for a change.

“Nothing happened,” she told Sherdog.com. “I just think it’s time to learn new things, try different camps. I don’t want to be working with them for my whole life. I’m just trying different things, new things. I’ve been doing this same camp my whole life. Now I want to try something new.”

Gadelha said already knew of Luttrell from the MMA community and was introduced to the coach through a mutual friend. The UFC hasn’t officially announced a fight for the 27-year-old Brazilian, but she claims that her return is on the horizon.

“I’m fighting in November, but I’m waiting on the UFC to tell me the exact day and who I’m fighting,” she said. “I’ll definitely fight in November.”

Gadelha last competed at “The Ultimate Fighter 23” finale, where she lost a five-round unanimous decision to reigning 115-pound queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Gadelha’s only two defeats in 15 professional appearances have both come at the hands of the Polish champion.
