UFC Live 4 Gets Lentz-Oliveira, Grant-Riddle Additions

The UFC continued to reveal the fight card for
UFC Live 4 “Marquardt vs. Johnson” on Wednesday, announcing a
lightweight tilt between Nik Lentz and
Charles “do
Bronx” Oliveira, and a welterweight bout featuring T.J. Grant
and Matt
Riddle.
Both pairs of fighters have verbally agreed to meet at the event, which takes place June 26 at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. The show will air live on cable network Versus and is set to be headlined by Nate Marquardt’s welterweight debut against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson.
Lentz, 26, will look to record his fourth win in a row. A stifling
wrestler, the Minnesota-based “Carny” has not tasted defeat in six
Octagon outings and has seen the judges’ scorecards in five of
those appearances. After outpointing the likes of Tyson
Griffin and Andre
Winner, Lentz ended his decision streak at March’s UFC Fight
Night 24, submitting Waylon Lowe
via third-round guillotine choke.
Oliveira, meanwhile, will attempt to rebound from his first defeat. Beginning his career with 14 straight wins -- including submissions of Efrain Escudero and Darren Elkins in the UFC -- the 21-year-old Brazilian was forced to submit to a Jim Miller kneebar less than two minutes into their encounter at UFC 124 in December. Nonetheless, Oliveira was signed to a four-fight contract extension by the UFC in January.
Hailing from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, the Canadian Grant (Pictured) has alternated wins and losses so far in his six-fight UFC tenure. Since debuting successfully in April 2009 with an upset of Japanese vet Ryo Chonan, Grant has lost to Dong Hyun Kim, Johny Hendricks and Ricardo Almeida while topping Kevin Burns and Julio Paulino. The 27-year-old’s 16-5 record includes 12 submission wins and only one stoppage loss.
A contestant on the seventh season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Riddle, 25, has spent the entirety of his professional career fighting inside the Octagon. The Pennsylvania native has compiled a 5-2 ledger, most recently dropping a unanimous decision to the debuting Sean Pierson at UFC 124.
