UFC Light Heavyweight Jon Jones Accepts Plea Deal in Drag Racing Case

Jon Jones has accepted a plea deal in a drag racing case and must complete 60 hours of community service and attend aggressive driving school.

TMZ Sports first reported Jones’ sentence. On March 24, Jones was cited for drag racing, having a modified exhaust, swerving between lanes exhibitionist driving and obscuring his license plate’s registration. After being pulled over, Jones berated Albuquerque police officer Jason Brown, calling him a “f—-ing liar” and a “pig.”

Jones ultimately pleaded guilty to having the modified exhaust and obscured license plate, but the other three charges were dropped. In addition to community service and driving school, he was also fined $143.

The Jackson-Wink MMA representative was already on probation when he was pulled over for pleading guilty to a hit-and-run charge that occurred in April 2015. Jones has already fulfilled 51 hours of the court mandated community service and has completed the aggressive driving course, according to the report.

The interim UFC light heavyweight champion is currently facing punishment from USADA and the Nevada Athletic Commission after testing positive for two estrogen blockers before UFC 200. Jones was pulled from a title unification bout against Daniel Cormier as a result. The fighter will still be allowed an appeals process before facing any official sanctions.
