TMZ Sports first reported the news. Clark County (Nev.) Detention Center records reveal that Bonnar was arrested on Oct. 26 and remains in custody on $22,000 bail. He faces charges of DUI, resisting arrest and unsafe driving.

According to the TMZ report, Bonnar was detained by witnesses – including one armed with a gun – after his erratic driving led to an alleged car crash in Nevada. Bonnar was reportedly taken to the ground and controlled until law enforcement could arrive.

Bonnar rose to prominence on Season 1 of “The Ultimate Fighter 1,” and his fight with Forrest Griffin at the “TUF 1” finale helped drive the UFC to new levels of popularity. Bonnar would go on to compile an 8-7 mark in the Octagon while squaring off against the likes of Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, Keith Jardine, Rashad Evans and Mark Coleman, to name a few.

Bonnar retired following a loss to Silva at UFC 153 in October 2012, a defeat which came with a positive steroid test. “The American Psycho” returned to MMA some two years later under the Bellator banner, falling to Tito Ortiz via split decision in October 2014. The 41-year-old has not competed since then, claiming he would likely remain retired following Bellator 131.
