Iuri Alcantara will meet Russell Doane inside the Octagon at UFC Fight Night "Silva vs. Arlovski" in Brazil on Sept. 13.
UFC officials announced the bout on Thursday. The event takes place at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil, and is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between Antonio Silva and Andrei Arlovski.
An eight-fight Octagon veteran, Alcantara has been victorious in his last two UFC appearances. In his most recent outing, “Marajo” knocked out Vaughan Lee in 25 seconds at UFC Fight Night “Munoz vs. Mousasi.” Prior to that, the Brazilian grabbed a split decision at the expense of Wilson Reis at UFC Fight Night “Machida vs. Mousasi” in February.
Doane has been riding a wave of momentum since joining the UFC ranks in January, winning his first two contests. The 27-year-old picked up his first win at UFC Fight Night “Saffiedine vs. Lim,” finishing Leandro Issa by vicious triangle choke. In his pay-per-view debut, Doane beat Marcus Brimage via split decision at UFC 175.
