Alexey Oleinik vs. Anthony Hamilton

Round 1

Oleinik stalks out from the center, flat-footed, pawing at Hamilton with jabs. The big men tie up and Hamilton lands a couple knees in the clinch, but Oleinik strikes back with a good right hook on the end of a combination. Hamilton shoves Oleinik against the cage, and referee Herb Dean pauses the action after the Russian lands a clipping uppercut to Hamilton’s groin. When the action resumes, Oleinik tags Hamilton with another hard right hand and then plants the American on the canvas with a double-leg near the fence. Oleinik slaps on a scarf-hold neck crank from side control, squeezes tight and forces Hamilton to tap.

The Official Result

Alexey Oleinik def. Anthony Hamilton via Submission (Neck Crank) R1 2:18

Ray Borg vs. Shane Howell

Round 1

Borg lands a quick right hand, dips out of the pocket and then comes back to floor Howell with a powerful double-leg. Howell gets to his knees, and Borg jumps straight to back mount. Borg slaps on a rear-naked choke and rolls with Howell, who manages to break the choke but can’t shake Borg off his back. Howell sits up against the fence, still with Borg on his back. Borg drops a couple punches and then reapplies the RNC. Howell has no time to tap out, as Borg’s choke quickly puts him to sleep.

The Official Result

Ray Borg def. Shane Howell via Technical Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) R1 2:17

Marcelo Guimaraes vs. Andy Enz

Round 1

Enz pumps his jab from the outside and then taps Guimaraes with a right cross. The Brazilian responds with a kick to the body of Enz, then another before shooting for a double-leg takedown against the fence. Enz defends well but Guimaraes rips him off the cage, lifts and slams him to the ground. Enz cracks Guimaraes with another right hand, then another, and Guimaraes opts to bring the fight to the fence again. “Magrao” holds Enz there for a moment before separating with a right hand upstairs. Enz is doing well with his counters midway through the round, scoring with punches as Guimaraes leans forward to strike. Enz is catching Guimaraes’ kicks, too, and after missing with some wide punches, Guimaraes clinches up. The middleweights break apart, and Guimaraes slaps with a right high kick just before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Enz
Luca Fury scores the round 10-9 Enz
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Enz

Round 2

Enz continues to land the cleaner strikes through the first minute of round two, constantly coming forward to put pressure on Guimaraes with straight right hands. The Alaskan mixes it up with a nice left hook to the body and then stuffs a shot. Guimaraes lands a knee to the gut on his way out of the clinch, and then a pair of overhand rights which land behind the ear but don’t seem to faze Enz. Halfway through the round, Guimaraes drives Enz to the mat with a double. Enz stands up right away and is held against the fence for a few seconds before Guimaraes backs off. Guimaraes lands a short left hand, another pair of overhand rights, and now Enz’s offense is dropping off. Guimaraes adds a couple chopping kicks to Enz’s lead leg, then one to the body, but Enz counters with a hard, straight right down the center. Enz closes the round by stuffing a shot from Guimaraes.

Sherdog Scores

TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Guimaraes
Luca Fury scores the round 10-9 Guimaraes
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Guimaraes

Round 3

Enz tries to press forward at the start of the final round, but Guimaraes is on his back foot, evading strikes and peppering the American with leg kicks. Enz grabs a leg kick and tries to rush Guimaraes against the fence, but Magrao circles away to reset. When Enz connects with a right hand in the pocket, Guimaraes floors him with a fast takedown, but Enz is back on his feet just as quickly. Sloppy exchanges in the center of the cage now, with neither man landing anything clean. Guimaraes gets back to his leg kicks as Enz tries to find a way inside. The Brazilian lands about a dozen good low kicks before taking Enz to the mat with 70 seconds left in the bout. Enz pops up and is held against the fence by Guimaraes, who’s digging for one last takedown to end the fight. Guimaraes finishes throwing knees at Enz’s legs from the standing position.

Johnny Bedford vs. Cody Gibson

Round 1

Bedford comes forward in a Thai-style stance, raising and lowering his lead leg to check Gibson’s kicks. Gibson tries to clinch and gets tossed against the fence, where Bedford lands a body shot and a flying knee. Bedford gets caught off balance and stumbles backward, and Gibson rushes to drop him with a short right hook on the temple. Bedford seems to regain his senses as he hits the canvas, but referee Kerry Hatley steps in to halt the contest. Bedford is not happy with the stoppage, and the replay shows that he has a legitimate gripe. Tough call for Hatley, and a rough loss for Bedford.

The Official Result

Cody Gibson def. Johnny Bedford via TKO (Punch) R1 0:38

Colton Smith vs. Carlos Diego Ferreira

Round 1

Ferreira immediately moves to the outside, circling to his right while Smith presses out from the center. Smith closes the gap to clinch against the cage, the lightweights trade knees to the body, and Ferreira hits a trip that puts Smith on the ground. Smith is on his knees when Ferreira slaps on a no-hooks rear-naked choke and forces a lightning-fast submission.

The Official Result

Carlos Diego Ferreira def. Colton Smith via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) R1 0:38

Joe Ellenberger vs. James Moontasri

Round 1

Ellenberger shoots inside early, and Moontasri clips him with a right hand on the way. After working for a double-leg for 30 seconds, Ellenberger backs out. “Excalibur” comes back for another try at the takedown, and this time Moontasri blasts him out of range with a flying knee. Ellenberger eats the knee and catches the “Moonwalker” in a front headlock, bringing Moontasri down to his knees near the fence. Moontasri is back on his feet with three minutes left in the round. He walks forward on Ellenberger, who whiffs on an overhand right and gets dropped by a counter uppercut. Moontasri pounces, trying to finish Ellenberger with ground-and-pound while the Nebraskan covers up on his knees. Moontasri stands, allowing Ellenberger to pull guard. When Moontasri comes back to the ground, he brings some heavy punches and elbows with him. When Moontasri stands again, referee Frank Collazo orders Ellenberger to stand. Ellenberger is slow to get up, his nose bloodied, and Moontasri soon has him back on the ground with a couple more punches. Moontasri stands over Ellenberger, avoiding an armbar attempt and dropping more punches. Moontasri comes down to side control with 45 seconds left; Ellenberger regains half guard and tries to catch Moontasri in a triangle as time runs out.

Sherdog Scores

TJ De Santis scores the round 10-8 Moontasri
Luca Fury scores the round 10-9 Moontasri
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-8 Moontasri

Round 2

Ellenberger finds early success with a double-leg against the fence, this time dragging Moontasri to the canvas about 30 seconds into the round. Moontasri gives up his back and Ellenberger climbs on to start hunting for a rear-naked choke. Good defense from Moontasri, locking down Ellenberger’s right wrist, so Ellenberger sits up high on the back and drops three or four hard left hands. Ellenberger leans back, threatening with the RNC while releasing his hooks. Moontasri turns over, giving Ellenberger a brief full mount. Ellenberger jumps off to the side and tries a brabo choke, but he can’t find the angle and Moontasri escapes. Moontasri stands up and slugs Ellenberger with a right hand that causes him to drop to guard. Moontasri sits up in half guard with two minutes left in the round, and the lightweights trade single punches. Ellenberger uses a butterfly guard to create space, and Moontasri stands up when he senses a possible triangle choke. Again, Ellenberger is slow to stand when ordered by the ref, but he plants Moontasri on the mat with another takedown soon after. Ellenberger finishes the round controlling the kneeling Moontasri and dropping left hands to bloody his nose.

Sherdog Scores

TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Ellenberger
Luca Fury scores the round 10-9 Ellenberger
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Ellenberger

Round 3

Ellenberger backs Moontasri toward the fence and closes the distance with a wild overhand right, then changes levels for a shot. Moontasri keeps a wide base against the cage and looks up to referee Collazo, asking for a separation. Collazo gives him the restart a few seconds later and tells Ellenberger to stay active. Ellenberger responds with a quick double-leg and triangles the legs of Moontasri, who sits up against the fence. Moontasri throws short right hands and mugs for the camera while Ellenberger struggles to hold him down. They’re back on their feet with 2:40 on the clock, and Moontasri keeps his man out of range with a missed front kick. Ellenberger lands a hard left hook, eats a jab and shoots for a long takedown. Moontasri sprawls and walks forward with his hands by his side, allowing Ellenberger to shoot again. Moontasri lands a couple elbows while defending, then forces Ellenberger to the ground. Ellenberger throws up a triangle, can’t close it and stays on his back while Moontasri thumps his body with punches. Just before the horn, Moontasri stands and dives back into Ellenberger’s guard, Sakuraba style, with a flying elbow.

Clint Hester vs. Antonio Braga Neto

Round 1

Hester slaps with a kick to the body and clips Neto with a left hand as the Brazilian moves in to shoot for a takedown. After 20 seconds of digging for a double-leg on the fence, Neto trips Hester to the ground and moves to half guard on the striker’s right side. Hester tries to post and sit up, but Neto keeps pulling the arm out from under him. Neto threatens with a guillotine now, has his hand peeled away by Hester and lands a couple short punches before Hester powers back to his feet. Neto immediately trips him back to the ground, and now he works from half guard on Hester’s left side with 90 seconds remaining. Neto drops right hands and looks up at referee Herb Dean for a stoppage, but he’s not doing nearly enough damage as Hester covers up underneath. Neto moves to full mount just before the round ends.

Sherdog Scores

TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Neto
Luca Fury scores the round 10-9 Neto
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Neto

Round 2

Hester lands a left hook, then a short right and a kick to the body. Neto can’t get into range this time as Hester keeps his hands busy and his jab pumping in the opening minute of the round. Neto’s footwork looks rough but he’s covering up when Hester steps in to throw punches. Hester gives Neto a smile and a feint, then sidesteps a front kick to deliver a straight left. Neto takes another left hook upstairs before shooting for a takedown. This time, Hester stifles the shot and trips Neto the ground. Neto sweeps almost instantly and steps over to full mount, gift-wrapping Hester’s left arm to deliver a couple elbows. Hester yanks the limb free and wraps up Neto from underneath, then forces Neto back to half guard with 60 seconds to go. Neto leans left to right across Hester’s body, framing up a kimura, but he runs out of time.

Hester scores with another left to the body, a right upstairs, but his momentum is slowed as he slips and falls to the ground. Neto is all over the mistake, coming down to Hester’s half guard with the better part of four minutes left in the fight. At the 3:20 mark, Neto passes to full mount, but 20 seconds later, Hester sweeps to top position. Neto gets a body lock from underneath and keeps an open guard, while Hester throws short punches to the body with both hands. Hester breaks loose and cracks Neto with a rough elbow to the face. Neto closes up his guard now, controlling Hester’s head at the same time. Hester lands a couple more elbows and punches but can’t keep his hands free for long. Referee Dean threatens a stand-up at 55 seconds, and Hester backs out. Back on the feet, Hester lands a left hand upstairs, a hook to the body. Neto eats them and drives forward on a double-leg to land one last takedown.

Ricardo Lamas vs. Hacran Dias

Round 1

Both men test the range with heavy punches and hard kicks, but both are able to deflect their opponent’s shots. Dias lands a chopping leg kick and stifles a takedown attempt from Lamas, who backs up as the Brazilian comes in to deliver another big low kick. “The Bully” returns the favor with a kick to Dias’ lead leg, then another which is checked by the Nova Uniao fighter. Dias lands a hard left hook and ducks under a punch to drive Lamas against the cage with a single-leg. Lamas defends with his back to the fence, then reverses to take the outside position in the clinch. Now it’s Dias’ turn to defend as Lamas changes levels for a double, then a single, and back to the double before referee Kerry Hatley separates the featherweights. Dias pushes forward and puts an overhand right on Lamas’ ear.

Again, Lamas is able to reverse the position, and now Lamas takes a standing rear waist lock to throw knees at Dias’ legs. Dias breaks the clinch briefly, but Lamas comes straight back in to tie up on the cage. Dias reverses this time, but Lamas soon slips out, and the featherweights get back to striking in the center of the cage. Lamas lands a quick combination before being dropped with an awkward overhand right behind the ear. Lamas quickly changes levels and this time is successful in pulling Dias to the mat. Dias stands right back up with 1:40 left on the clock, and Lamas keeps him pinned on the fence. Lamas tries a single-leg and gets shoved away by Dias, who lands a glancing right hand on the split. With 40 seconds left in the round, Dias shoots a double on the fence. Lamas denies it and tags Dias with a right hand, then a knee before the round ends.

Dias stands up but can’t escape Lamas’ grasps, and Lamas jumps on the Brazilian’s back when he leans forward too far. Lamas tries a rear-naked choke on his standing opponent, so Dias peels off Lamas’ legs and tosses him to the ground. Now it’s Dias on top, pushing Lamas against the base of the fence with just over three minutes to go in the fight. Lamas gets to his knees, his right side pressed to the cage and Dias on the left. Dias grapevines his opponent’s left leg and tries to sneak around to take the back, but Lamas pulls the limb loose and scrambles back to his feet. Dias is warned for grabbing the fence as he attempts another double-leg takedown. He switches to a body lock, trying to trip Lamas, and now he brings “The Bully” to his knees. Lamas hits the switch and winds up on top in cross side control with 80 seconds remaining. The featherweights stand, and Lamas attacks the body with a kick before diving for another takedown. Cezar Ferreira vs. Andrew Craig

Round 1

Ferreira counters a high kick from Craig with a straight left hand that drops the Texan to the mat. Craig escapes a guillotine but winds up on his knees with Ferreira in north-south position, kneeing at Craig’s body while still threatening with a choke. Craig peels away Ferreira’s hands, stands up and shoves the Brazilian away. Craig pushes forward, looking for an opening while Ferreira backs up in a wide stance. Craig has blood leaking down the left side of his face from a cut on the top of his head. Craig takes a finger to the eye but recovers quickly and comes back to zap Ferreira with a straight right hand midway through the round. Ferreira fires back with a piston-like straight left and a pair of high kicks which Craig takes on the arm. Ferreira connects with a shovel uppercut and follow-up left, covers up under fire from Craig and lands another left. With 35 seconds on the clock, Ferreira changes levels and plows Craig to the ground near the fence. Craig is back on his feet just before the end of the round.

Ferreira tries to step inside and has a punch blocked while Craig gets tangled up with a high knee. Ferreira backs Craig toward the fence and both men throw two-piece combinations; Ferreira lands a right hand, but that’s about it. Three minutes into the round, Ferreira shoots a double-leg against the fence and lifts Craig into the air for a slam. Craig keeps his balance and stays vertical but winds up pressed against the fence. When Craig grabs Ferreira’s head in a Thai clinch, the Brazilian backs out and circles away. Seconds after the cut is opened, Craig’s face is a bloody mess. Ferreira climbs on Craig’s back, locks up a body triangle and pulls him backward to sit against the fence. Craig throws short punches over his shoulder, trying to stay busy without giving Ferreira room for a rear-naked choke. Ferreira’s face is stained with Craig’s blood as he works for the choke, thwarted by Craig’s control of his left wrist. Craig keeps the punches coming as the fight enters its final 90 seconds, and Ferreira keeps trying to tighten the RNC. Craig pulls Ferreira’s left arm across his body and powers back to his feet, hitting “Mutante” with a left high kick as he stands. Ferreira hits the ground and Craig tries to polish him off with punches, but the Brazilian gets back to his feet. Craig is landing shots at will but he’s rapidly running out of time. Gastelum reverses and looks for a takedown before Musoke takes the outside position again. Musoke drags Gastelum to the ground about two minutes into the round and nearly takes the American’s back. Instead, Gastelum turns around and explodes back to his feet. Musoke shoots right back in and slams Gastelum to the canvas again. Musoke tries to take the back but rides too high and nearly gets shaken off. He pulls Gastelum backward and spends the better part of two minutes working for a rear-naked choke. Inside the last 20 seconds, Gastelum turns around and sits up in Musoke’s half guard to deliver a pair of punches at the horn.

Musoke looks to be in trouble as he backs up toward the fence, but he withstands the storm and circles out to the middle of the Octagon. Musoke resets with his jab, but he takes a kick to the liver side of his body before a hard straight right splits his guard. Momentum is on Gastelum’s side now as he marches forward on Musoke, attacking with both hands and mixing in knees to the body when he comes close enough. Musoke isn’t offering much in return but manages to momentarily slow Gastelum’s roll with a body kick. Gastelum is clipped with a hard jab as he steps into range, and now Musoke is finding success with some counters in the last minute. A thudding kick to the body lands for Gastelum, then a left hook up top. Musoke backs him up with jab, but Gastelum gets the last word of the round with one more stinging hook.

Gastelum throws a string of right hands before changing to a left high kick that doesn’t quite land flush. The welterweights go back to the fence with half a round left, Gastelum on the outside, and he releases to resume his striking attack. Gastelum puts a hard kick on Musoke’s midsection, tries to go high and slips to the ground, but Musoke can’t take advantage before Gastelum pops back up. A pair of body kicks connects for Gastelum, then a right hand up top. He ties up and delivers a knee to Musoke’s body. Musoke backs up to the fence and grabs hold when Gastelum follows, but the “TUF” winner turns him right around. Swanson is doing good work with his kicks, keeping Stephens outside until two minutes in, when he lands a grazing right hand. Swanson absorbs a body shot and then plants his hand to throw a flashy cartwheel kick that comes up short. Swanson snipes down the middle in an exchange to land a quick jab.
