Veteran middleweights Chris Camozzi and Tom Watson will tangle on Aug. 8, with both men looking to rebound from losses.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the bout on Monday. The 185-pound matchup will be part of the undercard to UFC Fight Night “St. Preux vs. Teixeira,” which airs live on Fox Sports 1 from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
Camozzi, 28, lost four consecutive bouts inside the Octagon before being released by the promotion in September 2014. The Coloradoan then picked up back-to-back wins in a local organization before receiving a short-notice call to rematch Ronaldo Souza in April. Just as in his first meeting with “Jacare,” Camozzi was submitted in the opening round.
Watson, 32, has dropped three of his last four outings, most recently losing a lopsided decision to Rafael Natal at UFC 183. “Kong” holds an overall Octagon record of 2-4, with victories over Sam Alvey and Stanislav Nedkov.
